Some of it's to a bank, I think the rest is to the Allam's, but I haven't actually read the accounts, Obi probably knows the details.
It isn't short-term hire because there is no hire agreement, never has been. There is no written or verbal agreement as to how the hire can be terminated. The clubs just turned up on the set time, week in, week out, year in, year out. All payments were up to date and there was no breach of the hire terms by the club's concerned. I did look up whether it was counted as a tenancy but didn't keep a copy of it, sorry. All academic now I think.
As I don't live locally I'm not up to date with what takes place on the hockey pitches. You are correct that currently the hockey club hasn't been restricted in its use of I assume 2 pitches. If one of the pitches isn't surplus to the club's requirements surely they will be affected by the loss of a pitch to a 3G pitch?
The last set of accounts ( summer 2014) showed a debt of roughly £2 million to Royal Bank of Scotland (being the amount they expected to pay under a guarantee, basically the mortgage Bartlett took out in the name of the SMC's holding company) and £6 million to Hull City Tigers Limited. Hull City Tigers paid off some of the mortgage and I'm not sure what the balance was for.
as posted elsewhere ... Kingston Panthers have informed us today the SMC have sold basketball equipment including portable rings, scoreboard, timer, backboards and rings. A member of theirs has also told us with his knowledge of flooring that the removal of the 3G pitch will leave irreparable damage to the floor meaning a new surface will likely be needed to return the Airco Arena to its previous state. https://www.facebook.com/AircoForAll?fref=ts How low can the ALLme's go?
I've no involvement in hockey, but as everyone seems to think this is the ideal solution and I've seen no mention of any hockey club objecting, I assume they don't need two pitches.
For most applications, the fees barely cover just the planning officers costs. The other Departments consulted receive none of that fee. That's why in some local authorities, other Departments won't provide expert advice.
Ah yes the bank loan they didn't know about when they took over the SMC. Not really expecting an answer ( only the Alams know for sure) but it looks like they are showing the SMC is a loss maker only kept up with Hull City money, and yet is only the last three years the SMC has not made a profit and therefore paid nothing to the HCC. Books and cooking come to mind.
That surprises me as after googling there are 6 mens teams, 5 ladies, 4 mixed and junior teams and evening training. If the teams play in leagues having that number of teams would suggest 2 pitches are needed. As this issue has only just been suggested may be the reason no response has come from the Kingston Upon Hull Hockey Club. This is an almalgam of 3 clubs and HCC specifically courted hockey to us the pitches when they were being planned. If a pitch is surplus then ok.
3 years olds who need to travel 45 mins to be able to bounce up and down are more photogenic and therefore more worthy it seems.
At every stage of this fiasco, whatever has happened has been on Twitter within minutes, but there's absolutely nothing from anyone involved in the hockey, hence my assumption that they don't think it's a major issue.
My pitchero suggests 2 mens, 5 ladies and 6 juniors but the use may be in decline or other facilities are being used.
