Don't normally start a new thread (fear of being banned or even worse ignored (lol, well maybe not)). But, if, and the chances are now high we get relegated, will SB stick around, thats assuming of course he is allowed to. From a City perspective think this would be for the best, since, Bruce, will not want to make a hash of it, because if he does then its the end of his managerial career, no one will be likely to want to employ him in the role he has now. As a result he would be putting everything into ensuring that City succeed in getting back into the Premier League. This scenario perhaps looks a better bet, than with a new unproven manager who might take City back to League 1, which would be unlikely with SB? From SB's perspective it might be to big a risk to his future career and legacy to continue on at the helm of our club. He may decide to get out, and take the Martinez approach-its a stumble in your career if you are relegated from the Premier League but its not easy to stay in the league when running a "small club" and that with more resources success can be there for the taking-rather than take the double or quits approach of trying to get out of the Championship for a second time. Thoughts (or even barbs) welcome.
Now you've started one, I'm loathed to merge it, but we do have a thread on this already... http://www.not606.com/threads/would-steve-bruce-want-to-stay-if-hull-city-get-relegated.297061/
i can't see much more in the way of investment in the summer before outgoings factored in , 10 mill and a few young recruits maybe ? a pure guess - so on that basis i think SB is the man for the job- whatever division we find ourselves in. It is afterall his team and i dont think he is far away with getting us a midtable outfit TBF
Course he will. Some bad decisions, some bad injuries, some bad reffing decisions, some bad transfer dealings and some bad luck. He'll go again next season as a wiser man and manager. And he 'll buy Troy Deeney!! FACT
Never use the go again meme. If the owners had any sense they would be saying Thanks Steve Bruce, time for a new manager, regardless of what happens between now and end season. O what they do is give him a 3 year extension lol!
He has been relegated before & got back with Brum, so don't see any reason why he'd want to go or why he should go! If we do go down & really have lost it, then maybe he will/should go. I still don't think we'll go down thoug! #IBelieve
If he does take us down and he cam persuade the bigger players to stay and take us up, then fin. If we're gonna play the same tactics every week regardless of opposition then he should be given until Christmas. We can't afford to be in the Championship and if it is looking unlikely at Christmas, then I reckon we will make a change.
Do you think he will want to stay after all this **** over the Airco Arena on top of the ongoing name change saga?
I think he would want to stay as he more than likely has never been backed by an owner like he has with the Allams before
Why would you want to keep a manager who spends 40 million in one season and gets you relegated? The club showed real faith in him giving him that kind of money to spend, and he has failed massively. His approach to games is so negative and we're ****ing boring to watch, he never actually changes things around and decides to have a go at a team, you can guess his team pretty much ever week and the week you don't guess it it's because he's doing something ridiculous like playing 4 centre halves and Aluko up front.
surely his time has come. how many years this man has had in which to prove the strength of his ability. ? I think he's failed, somewhat. after bringing a team up from relegation , his time to settle , seems to always revolve around bad signings , matchday tactics , inability to work out the team we're playing each week. I Believe his stock of expectation is overblown.
I'm actually more concerned about him staying if we stay up. He's not done that brilliantly with money and if we sty up we'll have to invest more than if we go down, purely on the basis of the calibre of players needed for the prem and their price tags. If we go down then I'd be happy to keep him but I do feel we need some freshness in the club.
