I´ve enjoyed the time that I´ve had here But all good things come to an end, My wife has just gone through a bad year So more time with her I must spend I had hoped it wouldn´t come to this But once these last few games have gone, I will have to give such boards a miss It´s time-consuming being ´on´ Which means that this ´drivel´, for a while As my verse was once so described, Must go to the bottom of the pile When my daily chores are prescribed And whether I return at some stage Actively on here, I don´t know, But life is too short now, at my age To worry about that, and so............ ....fair wind to the good ship ´Canary´ And long may she stay well afloat, And may all those aboard stay cheery It´s time for me to get my coat. as ever, OTBC (naturally I´ll round off the prediction leagues before I go)
That's a shame RBF. I have enjoyed reading your poetic verses but I can understand your reasons for calling it a day. Best wishes to you and your wife and hopefully you will be back in the future
So sorry to read this RBF. All the very best to both you and your wife. Thanks for everything you have done for this board to make it so friendly. You will be sorely missed.
Terrible shame, hope your wife improves and that we hear from you from time to time again if you feel so inspired. All the best, Melchett Bah & Bye!
Yes, I agree and you'll certainly be missed, but I appreciate how time consuming it all is and your main concern is your nearest and dearest. Hope you are able to return to these boards at some point and that you'll be able to watch the Canaries in the PL again next season or sometime soon!!!
I have to say, sir, you have had an enormous influence on the way this board has been run, I have a lump in my throat as I say, may nothing but good things come your way from now on. My very best wishes to your good wife, yourself, and of course, the master of the house, Rex! I hope things will improve and you'll be able to return, just to keep in touch, hopefully others can be press-ganged into running the competitions which you have run so very well over the years! Very good luck to you and please give our very best love to your lovely wife and an ear scratch and belly rub to Rex!
Very sad to hear about this for us RBF as your contributions to the board will be sorely missed, but there are much more important priorities in all our lives. All the very best for you both. Hope that you stop by every now and again when you find the time
You´re all very kind, and I very much appreciate all the kind words. Naturally after being a part of this family for so long, I will try and keep the good eye on what´s going on, but just won´t have anywhere near the time to contribute as I have done. all the best to you all for the future rbf
I have not posted on here for yonks, but have always kept an eye on things. This board will sorely miss your input RBF, thanks for everything you have done. Being in similar position I understand fully the reasoning. Can I also just add that if going into the last day level on points with Watford I think we can outscore them in our respective matches, didn't Alex need a big score in one of his games at Hamilton and he set them up to smash 10 past the opposition?
All the best, RBF. We haven't always agreed on football matters, but you're a wonderfully calming influence on this board. Best of luck.
Sorry to see the back of you, even if I don't do poetry that much. Hope you can come back at some point in the near(ish) future
Best wishes RBF. Sorry to hear that all's not as it should be. Hope to see you drop by from time to time.
although breaking my vow just this once, wanted to say all they very best to you and your wife rbf. you will be missed and hopefully you will be able to come back in the future.
So sorry to hear this RBF. You will be sorely missed, but as others have rightly said, family first, always. Please allow me a little verse of my own: Drivel your odes were certainly not Whoever said that was just talking rot Time on the CP leagues you spent Was always appreciated by this gent Old school chums, well very near I guess I missed your stream by a year Still, a little bit of history we shared Were you the one with the beard? Sincere best wishes to you and your Both the two-legged variety and the four Gandy
This is doubly bad news - awful to hear that your wife has been unwell and not had a good year, and almost as bad to hear that you won't be posting on here any longer, a real shame that is. As others have said you will most definitely be missed, I have always enjoyed your poetry and other input and as others have always said you have often been the lone, calming voice on here at times, I've not known you to ever lose your cool over anything. Hope all is well with the missus, thanks for everything you've done on this board and of course send regards to Rex the wonder dog! Take care fella, OTBC
I rarely post on here anymore but I do remember, back in August 2008, when I set up my 606 account, that you too had also just recently joined rbf. I'm sure someone will correct me on this, but, as far as I can remember, TMC is the only member remaining that was also a member back when I set up my original account. I guess all things must come to an end (not our current promotion push though!) All the best rbf.
Good luck on your journey fellow canary, lifes full of twist and turns and nothing is more important than family and close friends. Ive not been a prolific poster more of a lurker over the years but was one of the original 606'ers with the likes of colu mike and unbelievable anfield and have enjoyed your rhyme and verse over the years, we have been through so many ups and downs in that time its unbelievable and its been good to have an older heads views to keep us all in order and feet well planted on the ground. Hopefully you will be back with more at some point if not good luck for the future. YF
Very best wishes to you and yours RBF, hope things improve for you. Much respect and appreciation for the fantastic job on the leagues and of course the prose fella OTBC
