Borussia Dortmund have called a 12.30pm news conference, it's believed that Jurgen Klopp has asked to be released from his contract and they're announcing his departure at the end of the season.
Very, very strange one. I assume they think they're safe from relegation now though so maybe the timing is good. Man City?
I like him a lot and his public style. He talks a lot of sense and would be a welcome addition to the Premier League.
Man City is the team he has been linked with, and his style would certainly fit with English football. He's a better manager than Pellegrini for a start. He would certainly be a lot easier to get than Guardiola. He'd probably try to bring across players like Reus and Hummels anarl, which would certainly improve Man City.
The football hipsters will buzzing if does go to Man City. The problem with Man City is the squad. It's twice they've 'down tools' to get a manager sacked.
No, but I have an interest in all football, like a normal person. Also, as someone who writes articles on German football for various sites, I know quite a few things about it. England are my second team.
I read recently that he was already lined up to take over from Wenger next season allowing Wenger to take a seat on the board.
He was nothing when his assistant Along, left him. Interesting time for the board to clip, Klopp. I hope it's not after the horse as bolted.
I would love to see someone like him and Guardiola really surprise everyone and test themselves by going to a 'smaller club'. Maybe someone like Newcastle, Sunderland, West Ham or the like. Surely Pep cant feel truly tested if he only does Barcelonas and Bayerns of this world.
Read all about it here - it's well worth scrolling down to 12.37 and reading up from there... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...urgen-Klopp-quits-Borussia-Dortmund-live.html
Quality stuff. I particularly liked: Slightly disappointed that his German GCSE didn't extend to the following translation without using google.
