Hopefully there will be a protest, they seem the type to gird their loins and stick it out to the bitter end.
I will buy one. Not happy with this name change bollocks or the standard of football but yes I can afford it.
They could end up sucked into the managerial sack race. I hope they don't try poaching our new big employer as a sponsor. I could see the draw of Siemens sponsoring the Bell Enders stand.
We've won four games at home this season, FOUR! When we first got promoted I use to say I don't care who we are playing because I am going to watch Hull City. That's as true now as it ever was, I don't care who is coming to the KC, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, whoever it is, I've got better things to do than sit through 90 Minutes of City. .... All joking a side, I can't justify it anymore, not financially just as an investment of my time. It's a 500 mile round trip, I will probably still attend more games in a season home and away than most season ticket holders so why do I need to buy a season pass as though it is some sort of measure of how much of a fan I am. Don't care anymore and honestly if it's interpreted as a finger up to the Allams then good. When did football become so bloody boring. Honestly... what happened.
Two things to bear in mind. It seems like the club is driving away those most likely to vote against the name change should another vote take place. Those saying they will go to away games, just remember where you will need to buy your ticket from. Oh dear we don't have any left ( for the likes of you )
I wonder just how much value for money I'd have got from my season ticket this year if I hadn't enjoyed watching us get trashed and seen the amusing side of our circus act on and off the field. That said, I still turn up every time, naively perhaps, hoping and expecting to see a game and having those hopes and expectations shattered at 2pm every single time when the team sheet is published. If it wasn't for smartphones I'd probably have left most games before the players even came out to warm up.
I'm going to uni in September (in Lincoln) and I was contemplating renewing my pass and making the journey every other week, but I fear it might be too expensive. I don't think I'll be renewing but I can't say for sure. One thing is for sure, watching your local football team in this country is ****ing expensive, far too expensive. Fan's game my arse. My grandad's always telling me that people who pay to watch Premier League football are a bunch of silly bastards because of how expensive it is, and I'm starting to think he's right. Fans in Germany can watch their local Bundesliga team for a fraction of the price here. It's just greed and exploitation from the top.
I also wonder this. I think over the last 10 years or so everything's just got defensive and slow. It's now deemed adventurous to play two strikers; wingers are expected to be defensive as well as attacking and if you're not a defensive player you simply don't play central midfield any more. Our 03/04 promotion team had a ridiculous number of goals in it. The strikers all scored goals, as did both wingers and Stuart Green in the middle too. Nowadays 5 goals is a decent season for any City player. We always hope the next week will be the one where it all clicks and we score 5. Well, even 2 would be great. But it doesn't happen any more, it's all holding midfielders, organised defensive units and the team in possession just having to pass it square. For strikers, knocking the ball out of your feet and ensuring you're brought down by the keeper is as important a skill as finishing, that's not entertainment. The other thing is the uninspiring, business-like way the game is seen. A cup run is seen as a bad thing by many teams and, more depressingly, some fans too. All this stuff just detracts from the magic that got us watching the game.
Those figures, like the African Election Results, do not add up. Unless my Arithmetic is wrong we have had a voting response of 115%. What appears to be alarming is the fact that the bottom 4 questions (and the response) add up to 70%. If this is turned into actual fan reaction then we would be in deep, deep trouble next season. Someone has suggested that we put an embargo on the KC and just attend away games - this would probably result in a significant drop in current season ticket prices but on the other hand may result in Mr Allam pulling out altogether and leaving us facing extinction (yet again). Oh the trials and tribulations of being a Hull City supporter.
I won't be renewing this season, for the first time in a long time. I think I've only just realised how expensive it really is and what I could do with the money I'm using, just hit me how much doing pretty much every away game is costing me as well, you're looking at over 60-70 quid at the least before you've even had a beer. Also I don't feel the passion, and the pride around the club anymore, off and on the pitch. Bruce doesn't even seem motivated to do a job anymore and he clear as hell can't motivate the players which is clear when you're watching them, I aren't enjoying it at all at the moment and I don't feel a connection with the club and the players anymore, which makes me wonder what would I be renewing for? It makes me sad I feel this way because I've had some incredible memories over the years, but I don't see the point in spending huge amounts of money on something I aren't getting enjoyment out of.
We have bought 2 for Hull relatives since 2000 and will continue until they say they do not want them anymore.
Can't believe it's degenerated to this under our wonderful, new saviours. I've followed Hull City for more years than I care to remember. Certainly can't claim to have been a pass holder for the last forty odd years, but have been for the majority. In the 90's, when I introduced my son to City, I bought passes purely to keep the habit going, to put off common sense kicking in, to stop me from sitting at home in the warmth and not watching the sh**e that was being served up each week, but that's a football supporter, isn't it? City have given me great memories down the years, given me a great bond with my son. I remember fondly sat in the south stand, terrible hangover, c**t sat next to me smoking making it ten times worse, but the smile on my sons face, from waking up Saturday morning full of anticipation, till five minutes from time when he realised we'd lost again was priceless . Anyway, cut a long story short. Will definitely be renewing , regardless of status. Will be buying on monthly plan Will definitely not be putting the full wedge in his sticky little Egyptian mitt If they get Hull tigers passed, probability is I'd cancel standing Oder and send pass back with a heavy heart. Such a shame, but don't want to be associated with the car crash that would be hull tigers
I will renew mine plus 3 sons regardless of which division we are in but if the name change does happen and hopefully it wont but if it does I will definitely have a rethink. Not happy about the price increase either but I pay mine via D/D after paying my deposit so makes it more managable then paying all at once.
