Thought I would share this in case anyone has anything appropriate to add. To: The Chief Executive Sunderland AFC Dated: 12th April 2015 Dear Mrs Byrne SEASON TICKET RENEWAL I am compelled to write to you with regard to the disgraceful manner in which the Club are behaving towards current season card holders over renewals for next season. You will be aware, or at least I hope you are, that the current season does not end until after the final game on 24th May; and that your renewal deadline of 8th April actually precedes this by no less than forty six days. I appreciate you must fear relegation and that you wish to secure as many sales as possible beforehand, but do you really consider it appropriate to be using the threat of losing your current seat for next season, with so long still to go before this season has finished? I think you are taking loyal supporters for granted and that, with such poor performances on the field over a long period of time, this is a step too far. You must be mistaking us for a club that has enjoyed a little success over the last forty years. I have therefore not renewed my season card on principle and am not in the least concerned that I may lose my seat. Good Luck if you can find a buyer for it given the appalling standard of football served up this season. Yours faithfully,
If 10,000 fans had the balls to send this letter (which is good btw) then believe me they would sit up and take notice, the worry is, only a handful would. The rest would just let their ticket lapse.
It's funny that I was thinking this exact same thing this morning. Maybe if they were to agree a drop in prices in the event of relegation that may alleviate some concerns?
Doing nothing different to any other club...What this bloke is actually saying is that he doesn't want to renew if we are not in the premier league..
Wouldn't you expect a cheaper deal if you were playing in the championship? Or could they put prices up even with there being 4 more home games to watch?
What I am saying is that with such poor performances, the Club should be treating season card holders with more respect. By the way, I never missed a game in the old 3rd Division and many seasons in Div 2/Championship so I think you are barking upthe wrong tree if you think I'm fairweather.
P/ It's I think you will find its dying, but somebody smarter then me will correct this. I was brought up with a abacus
What I am saying is that all clubs do the same and why should we be an exception...Now if we done the same as what the likes of Man U do by issuing sanctions to those that don't attend cup games then that would be different, although that would not be a problem for me..
Not sure all clubs are doing the same and it would not change my view even if they were. I'm not liking this type of treatment and therefore letting the Club know that it's not OK to get relegated and presume I will meekly accept dross.
I've canceled. But for a mixture of finance and and a potential move away from the area. The **** football cushions the blow of not being able to get one.
There is no change here this has happened for as long as I can remmember.season tickets / cards are always renewed early.this is regardless of our support.
