Not really a rumour since its been confirmed, but does anybody know anything about this guy?

Curious that we go for a Japanese striker weeks after signing a new sponsorship deal with a Japanese tyre company.
Could we be pulling the ol' United trick of trying to appeal to a new fanbase?

That's exactly what I thought. Won't really work unless he's getting games though, which seems unlikely.

Looks like Bamford out on loan again next year....

Well we have Costa, and we will most likely keep Remy, so Drogba will go.
I too was hoping we would give Bamford some game time, I should have known better, especially since I am the cynical type.
Looks like this guy will be Drogba's replacement

How do we expect our youngsters to go on to achieve anything for us if we just perennially loan them out and then flog them as soon as they are worth anything?

this is the other shoe dropping in your 40m a year tyre sponsorship deal in Japan. Chelsea need a japanese player to sell tyres for their sponsor in Japan. Common sense like <laugh>

All I know is that even when there are two muto's they'll still get their asses handed to them by godzilla.

Never going to be a first teamer but a shirt seller but everyone knew that, that's including the player but I'm sure its not Chelsea who will be paying his wage. Is he a big name in Asia?

Saw him play in the Asia Cup. Like many Japanese players, he's technically very good. He's quick and he's direct, from what I saw. Impossible to tell just how good he is, but my guess is he is up to PL standard. But so is Bamford. No doubt this is a marketing decision, though the player may well prove to be very good, so a win win for me.

The guy scored 16 goals last year in the j league like. He should be scoring 30 goals in J league to get a move to Chelsea ffs. He's not 17, he's 22.

Don't get me wrong, if the club financially benefit from it, it's worth it. But it is what it is.

I don't like the buying players to stop others getting them tho, because it shelves the careers of those players. Salah for example, I never for one minute thought him capable of securing a career at Chelsea

Me neither but you still need a squad and Salah coming in replaced De Bruyne who left. Salah then left to be replaced by Cuadrado. Some will make it some will not.

Cuadrado has been a disappointment for me but I understand the lad hasn't had much playing time and will probably improve with a pre season in him but he doesn't seem to have the touches or any presence on the ball. Of course I remain hopeful.

Have to agree Ossie, he has not shown a dickey bird so far. Didn't expect him to set the Bridge alight, but expected to get a sniff of why we bought him. Zip so far, but I remember Frank, Drogba etc first year, so hope he is just settling in.
