Henry he is about as dirty as he is smart on positioning
Can't allow them to zip the ball about
It will be tough but I am certain we will give them a game

I would argue that Clint Hill has been Premier League quality and probably still is, although he's getting on now. If every appearance he'd made for us had been at centre back instead, things would look different. He wins virtually every header, puts his body on the line and has shut out many a premier league attack. I don't know what else you need to make you PL quality. A cooler haircut and more expensive car? It's certainly not about pace as there have been many slowish or average paced defenders in the league. He's a great leader and has great position.
Just judging by his ability as a centre back, he is definitely PL quality in my view.

Ability to pass the ball would be nice. Look, we all love him, but don't be daft. Any member of a defence that's let in 10 goals more than any other team in the league is not PL quality. Good defenders do a lot more than put their body on the line and make headers. Name me the premier league attacks he has personally shut out this season.

I'd play him in our defence simply because of attitude and lack of alternatives. I enjoy watching him play. But he ain't Paolo Maldini.

This post has got completely carried away with itself. Clint Hill is an average footballer. He works hard and is committed... Well why wouldn't he be? He is being paid to do a job!

And as for all that kissing the badge crap don't make me laugh. We had 2 brilliant full backs at this club called Clement and Gillard - both England internationals when that meant something. Both loyal players who played week in and week out at a consistently high standard. Did they indulge in all that ' look at me kissing the badge because that means I love the fans and the club' ? No they did not because they did not need to!

With respect RoyalOakRanger, may I suggest you listen to the podcast and the interview with Clint Hill, then return and read your post again.
If you still stand by your post then I respect that but I suspect you may change you view very slightly.
I heard the Podcast last night via Soundcloud and my percetion of this particular player has most certainly changed. Personally I have had no affinity with Clint Hill but that has most certainly been swayed by his comments.
Of course what you do say is completely true and I would be interested to read your thoughts.

No one is suggesting that Clint should be at a top four team and the first name on the England team sheet. What I and others have said is that Clint is good enough for the premier league, at least he has been recently. He's getting on now! Sadly, we haven't seen enough of him this season. I am 100% sure that we would have conceded less if he was managing the defence in each game. I have seen him give some top quality attacking players in this league kept under wraps by him. I'm not a fan of this football expert approach where everything apart from top top level football is merely Sunday league.

Secondly, yes... any player can kiss a badge and it can be acting. But would you look at Clint Hill in the eyes and tell him he was faking if you met him? I doubt it. This is Clint Hill we're talking about here. He's the most loyal player we've had for a very long time and he quite obviously loves it here and loves being a part of QPR. You can see that every time he comes out onto the field and especially when he captains.

I understand your sentiment and appreciate your scepticism but I know you know Clint is a proper QPR player. He scored the goal and, without the time to think and conspire toward tricking the QPR masses, held the shirt in the heat of the moment.

Do you even like and respect Clint Hill?

Wasn't there a thread about the standard of his "filling" in?
