At the prices they are asking joe that is the million dollar question. If we get more than 5000 I think that will be a good result considering. I would like to think it would be 6 to 7000 but no longer confident.
If the price was a bit cheaper we would expect to have around 6 - 7 thousand but now 5000 will be good, but on other sites they are all saying its a bit over priced and will not buy a season ticket, but they will say that. We will soon see. More the merrier.
I think a lot of us are concerned that it is overpriced not to save ourselves a quid or two but to try to encourage everyone to renew and to perhaps get a few more to help the cause. This is only going to happen if the price is really attractive. When you consider that we have dropped two divisions in two years and inflation is at a fairly low rate, a reduction of £20 is not really a reduction at all in terms of average ticket prices per division.
It works out to less than £1 reduction per game. Taking the average dad who takes one or more of his offspring, or mum for that matter (sorry ladies), given that the only free under 10 ticket is in the Family enclosure that means you have no choice where to sit or pay £120 extra. That is an increase of £5 per game give or take. Overall there is not really a reduction. Whilst I will still buy my ticket, I am fortunate to be able to, I could not blame anyone who would not even if I would encourage people to stick with it. If that makes sense. I cannot for the life of me understand the thinking with these charges. I know the club are skint and are starting from a very low point but that is no excuse. I also cannot understand how, if it is true, that Supporters Association has been consulted and they think this pricing is acceptable. They are way out of touch here if they did or were gullible enough to swallow whatever it was they were thrown. A huge huge shot in ones own foot in my view.
Its ok Greens_are_good_for_you I took it in the way it was mean't, and my reply was tongue in cheek too lol
Thank's Gat. It's just that I'm a sensitive fellow and would hate to offend anyone. I think I learnt that from DS!
After everything we as a club have gone through over the past few seasons I think us fans have developed a black humour lol
Wonder what he is really like .... tall or short .... thin or fat ..... hair or bald ...... an anorak or trendy lol
Nice chat ladies but what about the season ticket prices for god sake??????????? I've just had a look on PASOTI and there is quite a bit of bile over there regarding this issue. However, somebody posted the price list from other clubs and it does in fact seem we are at the lower end of shafting supporters. This does surprise me somewhat as I had expected prices to be much lower in this league. We can expect bigger support than many other clubs so it was a chance to bring people back in higher numbers but it looks like they are not interested in that. A lot of existing season ticket holders appear to be quite angry at the pricing and I hope it will not cause too many to throw their hand in and walk away.
Thats us told Reidy lol ..... what about the supporters who were encouraged with 5% off a season ticket, 10% the following season and this season it should have been 15% ..... I know of 3 fans who wont be buying season tickets this year because they wont be getting the interest free option ..... if I remember correctly we paid around that price for a ticket the last time we were in League 2 !
Thanks for bringing us back on topic sensible, I know I can always rely on you to darken the mood If that is the going cost of season tickets for L2 then it's pretty poor, it would seem that even L2 football is out of the ordinary working man's reach. You should all follow GAT's and my lead and take to watching the DJM league, it's free! OMG how long before they start charging us for that!!
Funny you should say that J lol ...... you forgot to say at grass roots level the players play for the love of the game and not for the money !
I seen all the people moaning about the costs on other forums and saying they will not be renewing. Its quite worrying to think that this will effect the income the Riddler wants to move forward. A re think is needed as they are not starting out very well.
As a matter of interest, does anyone know what season tickets cost at other League 2 clubs? I had a quick look at some of the better known names/long established clubs: Bristol Rovers £315 to £488 for premium tickets [there were discounts for early purchasers, now expired] Oxford United £316 to £417 for premium tickets [there were discounts for early purchasers, now expired] Rotherham United £342 [there were discounts for early purchasers, now expired] Port Vale £319 Swindon Town £269 [end] & £299 [touchline] [discounted period has apparently expired after an extension but full prices not yet shown]. On that basis, ours look fairly pricey although I suppose you'd have to know the various grounds to understand what kind of a view you were getting for your money.
I sat in Blk16 (most games) with my grandfather last season, a lot of baiting does go on but they are the loudest chanting end of the ground. The stadium would be a lot quieter without them in truth. I usually pay and go but as I am free more weekends from next year I will be at Home Park for all but 2 home games, the season ticket would be better value in this case.
