Having seen him play for Norwich a few times and chatting to friends....he's pretty good going forward, but can be prone to lapses in concentration defensively. Taylor is certainly more aggressive in the tackle, but Olsson won't pass the ball backwards as much. They both offer slightly different styles, not bad to have them fighting over the same spot...
Trunds. He started out as a forward but has since been switched to left-back (He is currently a key player in a St. Etienne defence that is currently 4th? So maybe he won't want to join us). http://www.insidefutbol.com/2015/01...-etienne-for-full-back-franck-tabanou/185685/ http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=386079 So maybe the Olsson deal is off? Or could this be a way of putting pressure on the deal...
On the BBC... Swansea City want Franck Tabanou from St-Etienne - agent Swansea City are in talks with French Ligue 1 side St-Etienne over the possible £3m signing of midfielder Franck Tabanou, according to the player's agent. Former France Under-21 international Tabanou, 25, can also play on the wing. Agent Philippe Lamboley said: "The two clubs are in discussions, but I cannot confirm a bid has been made." St Etienne are fourth in France's top division, while Swansea are ninth in the Premier League. Swans defender Neil Taylor has been the subject of transfer speculation during the January transfer window, leading to interest in Norwich's Martin Olsson. Garry Monk's side sold striker Wilfried Bony to Manchester City for £28m, while former St-Etienne forward Bafetimbi Gomis has raised doubts over his future at Liberty Stadium.
Tabanou will have to wait until the summer it seems... Here's an article from the Daily Mail that seems to be based on nothing whatsoever. Rudy Gestede interests Swansea after Blackburn striker helped knock Welsh club out of FA Cup Rudy Gestede scored in Blackburn's 3-1 win over Swansea in FA Cup The 26-year-old striker is valued at £6m by the Championship side Crystal Palace had a £3.5m bid rejected for the Benin international By Simon Jones for the Daily Mail Published: 22:45, 28 January 2015 | Updated: 22:45, 28 January 2015 Swansea City are considering a move for Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede. The 26-year-old Benin international is valued at £6m by the Championship side and so far no club has matched their valuation. Palace had a £3.5m offer rejected over a week ago. Blackburn Rovers came from behind to beat nine-man Swansea City 3-1 in their FA Cup fourth round clash Manager Gary Bowyer admitted Gestede could leave after beating the Welsh club in the FA Cup. ‘It would be a huge blow, of course it would,’ he said. ‘Personally, we have to try and keep all our players in this window. But if they were to go I’m sensible enough. I’ve been brought up the right way to not throw my toys out of the pram and get on with it. ‘That is all I can do. If they were to get sold I would go out and find the next one. ‘Gareth Bale went to Real Madrid, Ronaldo goes to Real Madrid. Eventually it seems to happen to every player these days. All you do is dust yourself down, wish them all the best and crack on. ‘I would obviously put my opinion forward but at the end of the day the owners of the club are there to make the financial decisions.
Monk hoping to sign one more player before close of play on Monday. Any ideas as to who the likely candidate is? Not David Villa again, surely?
Alexandru Maxim's name has come up again - doubt this will happen as we don't reveal targets this far away from transfers going through but ... for £5,000,000 is he being lined up to take over from Siggy, Ki or Jonjo?
http://africanfootball.com//news/522347/Swansea-offer-15m-to-lure-Andre-Ayew-report? Would be great if true- him and Montero on wings,
If we start paying packages of over a million pound a month for a single player then where will this lead us is my query......That is what the big clubs pay, It works out around £280k/week+...Whether its wages, signing on fee and agents fee it is still our money we will be paying......How can a smallish club start paying money like that is my question.....
That's why this is a rumour only.. We might be interested but the money involved is just speculations. Premier League = lots of money...
We are being linked to a Dutch striker Bas Dost currently at Wolfsburg. Good goal scoring record. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/apr/02/football-transfer-rumours http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bas_Dost
