It's passover so I had to wait till nearly midnight to watch the match, not knowing the score. Can't say I'm not hugely disappointed. I can't help feeling that we blew it yesterday and boro and Norwich will get the autos and we won't win the playoffs. Hard not to be negative after both ref and player decisions this season! Anyway, still in with a chance so COYH!
Def deserved Watford..... this current squad will nearly always fight back to the very end.... still in with a good chance BUT a win on Monday is really needed.... Defensively we were all over the place at times yesterday....
We've been a bit fragile at the back all season. I'd like to see a return to a back three and wingbacks with Pudil on the left, Hoban, Cathcart and Angella at the back and Anya (if Motta not available) on the right. Haven't had a proper look at the new CB, but could be a contender to replace Angella who has not had a good season.
I thought we deserved the draw - they showed real bottle in that second half. I am a bit concerned that a couple of them could hardly move at the end of the match but hopefully they'll be ok - the work rate from a few was incredible.
Recovery rates depend on the base level of fitness that is developed in pre-season, ie what Beppe did. Fortunately for us he demanded effort.
Derby could have had another one of two other pens on the night thanks to Angella. Who saw those? Seriously, could have been given those. We were lucky for a point, given some great saves from Gomez at 2.2 and all.
An excellent report here from the Derby point of view. https://facingtwoways.wordpress.com/2015/04/06/derby-county-2-watford-2-3rd-april-2015/
