Too right, lazy cnuts like me and you have paid in for long enough and we don't mind a lift to the top and would still happily plant the flag on the summit.

I'd be gutted if this happened. It would be a new club, Red Bull change everything - the kit, the name, the stadium and even "delete" the history.

Leeds united would die and a new franchise club would be born in Leeds - probably alongside a new Phoenix club in the lower leagues.

Worrying times if you ask me.

I hope for the sake of football that this doesn't happen. It's bad enough our club being used a display window for Mike Ashley's somewhat tacky shellsuit and replicated shirt empire but this would be a step too far.

What would be next if this goes through? The statue of Billy Bremner altered so he's holding aloft a can of Red Bull? The club colours going vaguely Lancastrian in hue?

The only thing that the average fan will get out of this is a new legion of "Life Long" supporters which, until now have been supporting Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and recently are new Lifelong Fans of Manchester City. This isn't following a club anymore but a brandname and a franchise and isn't what I remember my Saturday afternoons standing on the terraces was all about.

I look at clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City and there's no soul there. Ours is being ripped out slowly week by week and it's not sour grapes because there's the usual amount of success at St James Park but the way that things are going. People here have mentioned Southampton and Swansea and I agree that's how things should be done. But, alas, we're in the day of the Quick Fix and having to have a brand slapped on everything.

I hope that, for the sake of the game and for the memories of what clubs like Leeds are all about (I modelled my midfield tackling when playing in the 70s on a certain Mr N Hunter and have had the early baths to show for it) that this doesn't go through.

Now, if you lot stay another season in the Championship then I am sure that we'll be playing you soon. Good luck for the rest of the season and for the next one.

RB won't change the name of the club or the kit, but they WILL change the stadium name to the Red Bull Arena ... Tetley's and Bovril will be replaced by, you got it, Red Bull ... bitter and lager will be replaced by, yep Red Bull and Vodka ... the players will wear red/blue/yellow boots ... the U21s will play at the Torro Rosso Academy (old Thorp Arch) ... so, everything else will change except Leeds United and the White kit ... they are not stupid, they get English football ... this "story" is pretty accurate, the key thing now is Cellino's ego, nothing else ... if Cellino wants another season in English football that will be the end of RB as a buyer and they will turn elsewhere ... personally, I want Cellino gone, he is a crazy fool who will continue to destabilise our club with his egotistical whims and fancies

What makes you think they won't change the name or the kit. They own Salzburg, Liebzig, New York and that team in Brazil and they've changed all their kits.

hey rev, how you doing bud ... because I've been told this ... they understand the English game and culture, they understand the White Rose/Red Rose history, they understand the power of the Leeds United brand, which is what they are buying into ... a stadium name and their logo all over our kit will do for them [emoji106]

I think a takeover is happening and reading between the lines I'd guess it might be at an advanced stage. Ema Giulianelli, the Italian journalist, said months ago the Cellino family were selling up. Umbers, a man who brokers deals for the sale of football clubs gets put in charge and then the management structure starts to change. Childs goes, Thommo goes and likely Redfearn will go soon as well clearing the decks for the new 'team'. Red Bull rumours persist, personally I think it more likely be the Genting group, wasn't that the Harvey / Umbers choice before GFH? If it is RB then be prepared for everything to change, that's how it works with them. They do not run clubs as they were, the club is absorbed as part of the Red Bull brand, colours etc. Truth is the club needs investment.

Sorry Billy but I think if they buy it they will change everything. By their own admission it's what they do. I don't think the are buying the Leeds United brand, more like extending the Red Bull one. If it is true, then unless the FL won't allow it, we will be something like Red Bull Leeds or Leeds United Red Bulls, play at the Red Bull arena and playing in their brand colours. Look at every other football club they've bought and not forgetting the F1 team were formally Jaguar. Some will think it's worth it if we get back to the top, some won't.

Cellino = Playing around in the championship, might manage to squeeze into the Premier League but wouldn't be long term. For those calling to do things without massive investment it isn't going to happen. We might pop in and say hello to the big boys in the Premier League but it will just be visiting. Top young talent will always be looking to leave, Cellino will always ensure we are talked about for off the field antics, coaches will see us as a poison chalice and forget future English talent, we will be a team of Wiki searched players once Redfearn has gone.

Red Bull = Might change team strip, will rename stadium but at least we will own it, the possibility of winning something with some serious investment will be more than a dream. We would probably get promotion within a year or two and would probably stay in the Premier League. Fan base would grow, players would want to play for us, youngsters would want to play and come through the ranks. If there is one thing that Red Bull like to do it is develop the young talent and invest in the future.

You have to be realistic, as things stand be prepared to languish in the lower leagues for another dozen years, be tenants in our own ground and watch our best players leave and replaced with a scatter gun approach and loan players, is it really worth that just because our team strip might change and the stadium being called Red Bull?

I don't mind the Salzburg home or away kit, the home shirts are white with a red bull on them, there would be no reason why Red Bull wouldn't stick to the same for us and maybe replace the red shorts for white knowing how anal some fans can be over the colour red.

Eire, I have previously given the forum accurate info, my source is one of the most senior presenters on Sky ... RB are doing a lot of due diligence, and it's not just about money, but also about the club and tradition ... they absolutely understand the Lancs rivalry and the distaste for anything red, so want to avoid causing upset ... now, Russell Crowe is in the wings as a potential minor shareholder alongside RB to help promote Leeds United internationally ... everything rests with Cellino now, and the feeling is he might ask RB to buy out GFH and he stays as the controlling shareholder, but this is seen as highly unlikely as RB don't want him around (all or nothing) ... with regard to the F1 name change, that had to happen because Red Bull weren't using Jaguar engines any more, they were signed up to Renault ... personally, I am mega sceptical over all this, even though talks are taking place, because Cellino will let his ego get in the way, and if he fcuks up this deal then he will push out his chest and claim a victory over a global brand ... the man is a very dangerous twit who is showing himself to be totally incapable of running our club, but instinct says he will probably be here next season with GFH, Umbers and Piotr Petrovitofsky as manager, plucked from Legia Nobodonski where he valiantly fought to keep them in the Polish Vensdey Nite 5-a-side league with 7 Italians in his squad of 9

Red Bull own 4 teams already and they all play in the same colors - do you think if you join this franchise they will make an exception?

We have played in worse kits, I don't mind it personally, I see it as no different to any other kit sponsor.

According to Adam Pope, Cellino contacted him and said Red Bull are not buying Leeds United.

On the other hand, it could be right and the buyer could be the Red Bull big knob going it alone.
