In my experience, any public venue with bouncers on the door is already full of scumbags ready to jump on your head cos you looked at their nasty mutant bird. I try to avoid those sort of places. The bouncers actually seem to bring in the scum.
Daily Mail/Telegraph: "Britain is an easy touch for immigrants" DM/T: "Immigrants get thousands in benefits!" DM/T: "Immigrants get free housing!" DM/T: "Immigrants get free treatment on the NHS" And you wonder why people want to come here?! The Daily Mail and Telegraph make it sound like paradise on earth. Of course, the reality is quite different with most immigrants ending up living in cramped accommodation with no money or on the street but then the DM and T don't bother to report such things because their readers are dribbling, right-wing ****nuts who, despite living comfortably in 2-up/2-downs in Hertfordshire, think they're "suffering" at the hands of illegal immigrants. Of course, these newspapers are owned and run by rich, tax-avoiding ****ers but let's ignore that fact because we're too ****ing stupid to consider that they make up ****e about immigrants as a way of distracting from the real problems this country faces, like rich, Tory-supporting ****ers avoiding billions in taxes. Much easier to fool the terminally stupid into believing that the country is over-run with dirty foreign types.
Surely it would be easier to make sure these Immigrants can't get a hold of a Daily Mail in the first place?
Most studies prove that immigration has increased the wealth of this country, immigrants pay more in tax than they receive in benefits and generally want to work. The Tories slash public funding for schools, hospitals, roads, etc...after selling off council houses and generally doing nothing to help. UKIP voters then get to say 'we're full', Farage blames immigrants blocking the roads for him being late for an event, the NHS is being used by 'foreigns' everywhere for breast implants and the lot, now apparently they're also infecting us with HIV. What I love is that the right DESPISE the poor in this country, even the English poor. They moan constantly about benefits and money being spent on poor people, but still manage to brainwash them into blaming 'foreigns' for all of their woes. It comes down to the fact that if an immigrant can walk into your job you've failed at life. Everyone has access to the same education, there's no excuse nowadays for people to simply say 'I can only work in a factory'. If you're getting pushed out of your job, you should have either worked harder at being better at it or change career.
Don't fight your inner Guardian reader. You're only making yourself unhappy pretending to be a right wing golf club bigot.
These papers play to their readership though - if you didn't like reading those bias-confirming articles you'd change paper. How many times do you see under a Guardian article something like "what to hell Guardian - this article is kind to the Tories? I didn't come here for this!"
You obviously don't read the Guardian website. It covers most topics, from religion to UKIP, some for, some against.
The Guardian is my most regular paper (or online paper) since The Times paywall went up. It's not at all balanced - for every Nick Cohen there's an Owen Jones and half a dozen feminists.
I was just reading the site funnily enough, was the article about Sturgeon. Quite a few nigels are critical of article and old play-doh face.
Yes, but it's not confined to their readership. Bigot #1 reads story in Daily Mail and tells bigot #2 about it. Bigot #2 then tells it to someone else and before you know it it's become, in their eyes, a truism. Then the particularly stupid go onto the internet and repeat this bollocks (see stopme as an example).
Guardian comments are a good read, any way, of to Berkhamstead for her to look round the shops, oh joy.
