Why's that Woops, I am sure I have already relayed that and have many friends that are Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay fans which beats any of my mates that wear Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal colours.

Not true Saint Possum, everyone in Plymouth hates you. I took a straw poll and it was 100% unanimous.

Can probably be explained by the fact that everyone in Plymouth and Pompey alike know that huge financial management on their behalf and Saints meteoric rise means that your grandkids and all future generations in your hometown clubs will be donning the red and white stripes.

They haven't even heard of Southampton in Plymouth and the only Red and White stripes they know hail from Exeter. To be a football shirt worn in another city you have to have years of winning something as a club. Come back in another 50 years or so if you've made that. Don't hold your breath though. Could be you won't even make Europe at all now as predicted by moi earlier.

Somehow I imagine that Southampton have been at least mentioned in Plymouth, or maybe football failure is the theme of the day every day in Plymouth. In 50 years you lot won;t even be a club any more, a distant memory maybe but not a club. Didn't Plymouth run themselves into the ground with some fast track scheme to become a PL side ? Financial failures such as Plymouth should aspire to be like a team like Saints who have shown it is possible to rise from the football doldrums not just lie there in their own bitterness.

"rise from the football doldrums" Sunshine you ain't risen anywhere yet. Your history is paper thin and you are not, repeat not, one of the big boys you are one of "the rest" in the prem league and you will continue at best to be the same. To get you where you are now had nothing to do with pure football success it had everything to do with an owners money. Not that long ago you were skint with few prospects and without the cash your owner gave you, you would still be skint. Billy big bollocks you are not. And, before you come the bitter and twisted card, I really couldn't care less if you succeed or fail. It isn't the club I dislike it's the attitude of it's followers who seem to be just like you. Nobodies desperate to be a somebody but with absolutely no class. Trust me there really are no closet Southampton supporters in this City, nobody talks about you at all because you are not big in terms of the premiership. You can sling crap at my club and deride it all you want, I doubt you can come up with anything original or that I haven't called them myself over time. The difference between us is I know my clubs place in the scheme of things but clearly you have a lot to learn still.

"Sunshine you ain't risen anywhere yet " Risen from league 1 with a ten point deduction to 6th in the Premier League. This as I'm sure you know qualifies us to play in the Europa League. I would say that showcasing our football in Europe is somewhere. This is remarkable for a team like Southampton. As you say Southampton are one of the rest in the premier league I am not delusional in thinking we are are anything more than a relatively samll club. The fact that you refuse to accept that we have risen to what is a hugely respectable position for a club of our size further demonstrates that you are bitter that your own team's push to get to the PL has resulted in you becoming the nothing club you are today.

Yes Southampton have gotten lucky with a great owner however to suggest it was only his money that has driven us to where we are is simply ridiculous. Yes money was spent but it was no fortune and especially considering that a lot of it was re cooped from sales from players from one of the best academies in Europe. Saints recruitment and management have made Southampton a footballing success and also a profit making corporate success. The fact that you think this rise is because our owner has flooded money into us is so misguided it's almost funny. The fact that you are seemingly appalled that Saints fans have the gall to enjoy this level of success that fans as young as me have never known and the older fans can hardly remember makes me think that you are extremely envious of what could have been if Plymouth had got it right like Saints.

No you don't understand do you, it isn't the club it's people like you. I have nothing against Southampton the football club. In general your lot have always thought you were something without the record to back it up. And to pretend that your owner's money hasn't bought the facilities to enable you to produce academy successes is naive in the extreme. Without your owner's cash you would be still in the 1st Division. You should enjoy it whilst it lasts and I would remind you that you aren't in Europe just yet. Not long ago it was Champions league, now it's Europa and tomorrow????? Lets see shall we.

<laugh> You are clearly making it up as you go along buddy. I don't know if you're about eight years old or whether you are so blinded by hate you hadn't realised that the major success stories of Saints academy pre date 2010, namely the most expensive player in world football. Also it takes longer than five years to construct youth facilities and bleed that youth into the first team, " Fans like me " are no different to the Pompey fans who were very vocal circa 2008 when they were an established PL side that won the FA cup and Saints were staring at the abyss. Not saying I enjoyed it but I can accept when a club performs above its station the fans will be pleased and naturally they will rub their under performing rivals nose in it. You I suspect are so bitter at the fact you have noting to look forward to on a Saturday in a football sense you have decided to chastise the fans closest that actually do.

The difference between you and me is I have never revelled in our nearest rivals downfall. That is have never just in case you missed it the first time. Both have dropped out of the football league in relatively recent times and I felt sorry for them rather than gloated. Contrary to your belief I always look forward to my Saturday afternoon football fix with a real club and real supporters and have done for most of the last 50 years. It's not just the match it's the whole football afternoon I enjoy and would continue to do so irrespective of the league my club were in. Your comrades of the terraces need to develope a bit of class with any success you get. I realise it's relatively new to you but gloating is never attractive as a trait. It's a long lonely way down when you fall off the perch.

Honestly Greeny, how many Saints fans have you spoken with in Plymouth?...You appear to be making a sweeping judgement of an entire fanbase based on a few fans posting banter on a local rival's forum on t'internet.
Have you never heard of not interferring in a "domestic"?...:emoticon-0102-bigsm
The Pompey lads here are a decent bunch (even SB3!) and they know the score, whether it be attendances or trophies etc there will ALWAYS be "smack talk" between us, you should take most comments posted here with a hefty pinch of salt.

Honest answer none in Plymouth because I genuinely don't know any. On the internet yep a few it's true and those that invade usually come across as totally arrogant which has gone a long way to colouring my judgement. I emphasise not just on the Portsmouth or Plymouth board historically. Perhaps on reflection I may be letting that get in the way of a local rivalry which I do get incidentally. Maybe I should learn not to be so sensitive. Incidentally I have interfered in many a domestic in my time in reality so it does come as second nature although I have retired and therefore don't anymore. Old habits die hard.

We play Pompey on Monday so could you big us up a bit please and tell Saintsfan08 that it's still classified as football even if it's league 2.

I guess now is a good time to tell you that my second team is Torquay Utd....I was born (and weaned on scrumpy!) in Newton Abbott and spent the first 7 years of my life in Teignmouth until my Dad lost his job as a Boatbuilder and had to move us all to Southampton to find work. I've been to Wembley with The Gulls in the Fa Trophy cup final, still waiting to go there with Saints!

I repeat my post above that I have no problem with any other local supporter in Devon. I don't think any Argyle supporter has ever had a problem with Torquay either although some seem to wish Exeter disappeared for some obscure reason only known to themselves. I took my son to Torquay some years back to the last game of the season to show solidarity with a Devon club which they only needed to draw at worst to get promotion. Think it was Scunthorpe. They lost it 0 - 3 with a player sent off. It was in the days of football hooligans and it wasn't pretty being there on that day. Was a bit shocked to tell the truth and have never been since. It's your birth place that makes you a more reasoned individual I'm sure but it must have been a close run thing with the number of fingers and toes.........
