Three of the current crop of second year Scholars have been offered professional contracts for next season. Josh Clackstone, Harvey Rodgers and Will Annan will all join the Under-21 Development Squad on a full-time basis in 2015/16. Alex Penny has been offered an extension to his Scholarship due to missing the first half of the current campaign through injury. Erik Bukran and Jarrod Bowen, who have both played for the Under-18s this season, are already under contract to be part of the Development Squad for the 2015/16 season. However, the following players will be allowed to leave the Academy when their Scholarships expire at the end of the current campaign: Joe Walker, Jake Rose, Jake Buckle and Devonte Morton. The Club has also made new contract offers to five members of the Academy’s Under-21 Development Squad. They are: Rory Watson, Will Aimson, Ben Clappison, Conor Townsend and Matty Dixon. Max Clark, Johan Ter Horst and Greg Luer are already under contract to be part of the Development Squad for the 2015/16 season. The following players will see their time with the Club come to an end when their current contracts expire: Jonathon Margetts, Joe Cracknell, Sam Topliss, Leon Dawson, John Mahon and Eoghan McCawl. A further announcement on the future of Calaum Jahraldo-Martin will be made upon his return from international duty with Antigua and Barbuda. The Academy would like to thank those players released for their services, commitment and dedication during their time at the Club, whilst also wishing them every success for the future.
Haha Ferriby Shep, I play football against him on a Monday night, he's a right tit. As for the OP, it doesn't surprise me that the ones who have been released have gone, I don't think Margetts will struggle to find a League club, the others might have to drop into non-league to start again. Bit surprised about Morton, he was supposed to be one of the brighter prospects. I reckon they'll let CJM leave as well, I don't think he's impressed as much as Brucey thinks, if he can't get into the Alloa first team, he's got no chance.
