HCST - The name-change resubmission to the FA The Trust is disappointed, though unsurprised, to hear that the owners of Hull City AFC are intending to resubmit to the Football Association their proposal to change our club’s historic name. We have today written to the FA to ask if they can confirm for us whether this is the case, and also for them to set out for us what the process for this application will be and what timescale will accompany it. We have also asked them to clarify whether a fresh submission is required from ourselves; if the club is making a new submission, we would welcome the opportunity to do the same. We will update you once we have heard back from the FA.
I'm quite happy to see the name change and I don't give a dam what league they are in I'll still go like I have done for the last 45 years.
All of the last 45 years? Amazing how many people say they have gone that long. Yet we were getting crowds of 2,000. Why would you be happy to see the name change? Have you spent 45 years supporting a club whose name you weren't keen on?
I didn't. If there are 100,000 people who think that our name shouldn't be changed without our consent and they each donate £10 we'll have enough to fund any legal action. Of course some will give less but many would give more. If you ask for money to fund a good cause you'll be surprised at the response you get.
What, so you're now saying that if you don't mind Hull Tigers that you're not allowed to disagree with ANY name change?? Every fan has the right to draw the line where they want to draw the line. It doesn't make their choice any more invalid than yours. People who don't mind the name change receive dogs abuse on this messageboard. Not only do you ignore it, you actively encourage it. Yet you are on the Committee of the HCST claiming to represent all City fans. You're a fcuking joke and HCST is a joke representing a minority of fans.
I'm in the other camp Sunbeam. Been a supporter for 50+ years and will continue to support whatever league we are in. But, if the name change goes through that's me done with it. Sadly, I will walk away.
What I'm saying, is that everyone has a line they think shouldn't be crossed, mine is the name of the club(among other things), others set the bar lower, but I think everyone has a bar set at some level. Everyone has the right to their own opinion and they are all free to express it on here, nobody has ever been stopped from posting or had posts deleted just because they held a different view to me or any of the other mods. Equally, anyone is entitled to challenge any opinion posted on here and it's up to each poster if they want to argue or ignore the opposing view. It's true that many who don't mind the name change get dogs abuse, but it's a very emotive subject and many can't understand how people can not care about something as fundamental as the name of the club(obviously I'm one of them). I wouldn't say I encouraged it, I simply let people post what they like, things are only deleted if they're really offensive or breach our politics/religion rules, there's very little that actually gets deleted on here. As you said on the other thread, HCST can only ever claim it represents its members, though we would hope that our aims are for the benefit of all City fans.
& chucking out the "liar" accusation despite dropping the odd porky himself & defending Chief Lying **** Supreme Allam to the hilt.
To me it's just a name it's the team what matters, you'll still be able to read and talk about the past that will never change.
