When will John Barnes realise that he is a crap footballer, was a crap manager, was an even worse pundit and that is the reason why you can't get work not because you is black. That litte race card should be stuck right up his fat arse.

Getting sick of the race card coming out in this and other cases.

Plenty of white managers in the same boat

Maybe we'll have Gary Megson next, saying he can't get a job because he's got red hair?

Think you hit the nail on the head. It's performance driven, and if you don't get results you get the sack. You will probably see more and more (and I hate using this term, as we're all British and human at the end of the day) black managers. I couldn't name one in my younger years, but can name us a few, two of which have been successful. It's not as simple as saying "I want to be a football manager." You need your badges and a club willing to give you a chance.

If you're successful and have an owner willing to back you, then you'd go a long way.

Reading the article it states that there are 6 black managers out of the 92. Surprisingly 3 of them (50% for those hard of hearing) are named Chris.

There you go Barnsey, change your name and you'll increase your chances of getting a job - simples.

Awful, awful manager. Some of the stories that came out after he got the boot at tranmere were hillarious.

Haven't seen the article, but if he's playing the race card that's pathetic. He's just a rubbish manager who couldn't even do it at league one level. Go and try to rebuild your career at non league and earn a job in the football league.

Paul Ince is the same - has had 8 chances as a manager, about 7 more than his ability as a manager entitled him to. Love the way he pops up now alongside professional race industry agitators like Jason Roberts and Herman Ouseley. And Brendon Batspn, of course.

What I want in Society is people to be judged on their ability to do a job irrespective of Colour, or what School you went to etc. People like John Barnes set back Black people by the lazy and wrong use of the race card. It is an excuse that is too convenient and does him no credit.
I don't believe in quotas either which is what the South African cricket team have. The only criteria should be are you good enough for a Football Managers job? John Barnes is obviously not by his past record.

Changing the subject, I hear you have left ITTV Royston. Did you leave or were you pushed by the Great one, who never changes his mind? A Don Slug has also been banned, I wonder who he is?:emoticon-0103-cool:

    John Barnes actually said:

"Very few black managers who get the sack get another job"

Apart from Chris Hughton (4), Paul Ince (8), and Keith Curle (3).

Dick - no, I left of my own volition. I started to feel like Michael Caine's character in Zulu on that site. The final straw was Reams' utterly fictitious bollocks about "meeting Katrien" at Cardiff and his "confidential conversations". If the people I work alongside knew I dealt with the likes of Reams, they would disown me.

Agree with what everybody else has said.

You might also have added Chris Powell to the list of black managers given another job after being sacked, Vol... :bandit:

I dont get John Barnes mentality. Is he after sympathy? It sounds like he was sent black by some mad scientist? He makes his color sound like a disability. No John. It's generally thought throughout the planet and even some remote tribes in the Amazon that your pretty much shat at anything you do. I suggest you run as a labour party candidate. What a winker.

I recall stories that came out of Parkhead during Brnes' tenure as manager there - by all accounts he was totally clueless.

Contrary to popular belief Dick I am infact not Royston, Although I do agree with him on a wide range of subjects and we both enjoy mocking the arse lickers of the club.

I hope not606 welcomes me with open arms as I have been unfairly banned on CL and ITTV for daring to question the resident bullies (Ben Hayes and Reams).

I thought you were Typical, I got that wrong. Welcome Don to the Charlton Forum which doesn't threaten people for having a different viewpoint. Some might kill you with sarcasm.

    Great news Don.

Did you know that Ben Hayes has started following @HenryIrving10 on Twitter?

I have noticed that ITTVs posting figures are lower then Elton Johns pants in a scout hut since you departed.
