..... after being 'certain' to go down, it's another miracle! Cheltenham & Tranmere both losing at home and 'Pool winning so out of the bottom two! They have York away soon and a potentially explosive last day at Carlisle
I'd like Tranmere to go down and justify the curse I put on them all those years ago Cheltenham are 3-0 down at home and have some difficult games ahead.
I've not long got up, I haven't caught up with the forum yet let alone today's scores. But as someone who's lived in Darlo most of his life and been to just as many Darlo-Hartlepool derbies as I've been to Sunderland-Newcastle, probably more, I'm sure you understand my stance on Hartlepool. Well done to Harrison though, will never begrudge a Sunderland lad doing well.
York had a very good result today! Hartlepool will have their work cut out. That being said, Russ Wilcox makes John Carver look like Jose Mourinho!
Oh yes, fierce hatred. Been loads of trouble over the years. I remember Gabbiadini was punched by fan after a play off game. I went to Wembley with Darlo that season with me dad in our Sunderland Tops.
As a a Darlo lad I've been to many derbies both home & away (no pun intended!) and it's always been 'nasty'. Some of the trouble during the 'Feethams' days (mid 80s) was like a scene out of Braveheart. I always had to be careful as a bairn as my dad is a Monkey Hangar so couldn't celebrate too much if Darlo won!
I've seen more bother at thes games than us and Sunderland. 50 a side in Church Street, no holds barred. Hideous!
My mates a Pools fan, and he said Harrison's a beast and why did we let he go?? Probs the same reason as Mvoto, big and strong but that's where it stops.
Darlo vs Pools is one of t be most fearsome derbys in the country. Darlo had a good respectable firm back in the day.
They'll turn up in big numbers, certainly. It's a big thing for the Poolies. Last game of the season they go in fancy dress, a fair few hundred of them. Smurfs the season before last, Virgil out of Thunderbirds last year. Good craic.
If you like chew, the lower leagues is the place to go. Limited cops and security. I had a lot of fun as a pretend Millwall fan against Hartepool when they were both in league 1. My good mates a Wall fan, so I used to tag along . Had a few scrapes with them against Boro aswell, my home town ha
