Personally I don't think the Swans prices that bad at all - given what's on offer. Not the same across all clubs though.

What I want to protest about is the scandal going on with the Pacquiou / Mayweather fight - 16k+ capacity and < 1000 tickets to go on general sale - starting from 1.5k USD each!!! Disgrace.

Season ticket-wise, I think we're doing ok. But £35 and £45 for every area of the stadium is quite expensive. I know there is not really a bad seat in the house (until they put those screens too low, the ball must disappear behind the screens on goal kicks etc.), but it's generally perceived that great seats are half way line, followed by behind the goal, followed by corners. There should at least be cheaper options in the stadium for people who can't fork out £35 for one-off ticket - we're not exactly the richest area of the country. Considering there are 14 clubs in the Premier League with a cheaper match-day ticket option than us, there is room for improvement there.

fair point - I was thinking of it more from a season ticket perspective which averages out ~£25 per home match.

I thought the Arsenal away prices were good ...... £26!

They were talking on the radio this morning and saying that from this £1bn that the premier league is allocating to go back into football, £300-400m will be for parachute payments, some goes to other stuff, but they also included money that should be used to subsidise fan's tickets.

Now I know I've mentioned it before, but this is what that Chairman from Bayern Munich was saying. If after parachute payments each club ends up with £30m and the cost of every season ticket totalling £6.4m (I went with an average of £400 a ticket x 16000 tickets to make sure I overestimated. With student, children and OAP tickets being a lot cheaper), the club could afford to half the price of every ticket and still be happy with the £26-27m they'd have left.

    Jus' sayin'.

If football supporters want to protest over prices then they need to stop paying them. It's pretty simple really.

I have been protesting with others from other football clubs for nearly a year now that clubs are not doing enough for the life line of all clubs...The Fans. While more money is pumped into football nothing ever gets filtered down to the fans and that is morally wrong.....For the average working fan let alone others who dont work for whatever reason then £35 to watch a game of football is a lot of money especially if you have a young family who wants to follow your passion for the club. The lone ranger states if you dont like it then dont go and as a protester who is fairly well off i dont go as i wont pay another penny towards any football club while there is so much greed by players and clubs who never thinks of the fans who support them.....

I paid £429 for my last season ticket - have renewed it this year for the same price! To me it is excellent value! I will continue to renew my season ticket because I couldn't bear to give up my seat! I would happily pay twice the price but support your stance Mr monk's hero! Would love to get my ticket cheaper but the price is subject to market forces! If I didn't renew then my season ticket would be snapped up by another fan! Swans season tickets are amongst the best value in the EPL and I don't believe that 'greed' is a factor for us! A fair price to pay for excellent entertainment!

if you can afford it but what about the ones who cant fork out cash for a ST......£429 is for your seat for 17 games.....what about what you spend on match days to get there and any refreshments you may have....I dont think that is a cheap deal for fans at all and if im being conservative by saying the least anyone will spend on a match day is £50 and in most cases much more than that and im not counting if you have kids.....football is very expensive these days for fans and clubs need to address this before they lose fans altogether....nobody has a bottomless pit that they can throw their money at all ready millionaires who dont know how much a loaf of bread costs...

Firstly, it's 19 games. Secondly, I rarely spend more than £15 (not including the cost of me season ticket. If you're spending more than that, you can either afford it or you're being reckless. Either way, it's not a problem. I don't have food at the stadium , but I do have a cup of tea. I have a coupla pints before/after the game in the pub.

Yes !9 games that i meant but im on about those who cant afford to buy a season ticket and there are many so for then to go it is very expensive and would have to spend a minimum of £50 to watch a game....sorry that is expensive for most people to afford these days.........£15 is a more sensible price to watch any premiership football match and not £35 we charge.....

It's supply and demand on this though, in the Swans case there is more demand than supply. I agree with Dai though, even if I wanted to I couldn't afford to take my family to a single game. If you include the cost of my season ticket at I calculate at £22 for a game, then the £35 for my wife, not quite sure on kids prices, but I have two so let's say another £35.

So in order to just go to the game it will cost £92, add in food and drink and parking, then it will be another £35, so for about 2 hours of entertainment it's costing me about £130 just for one game. I could go to the cinema for less than a third of the price and for about the same time.

So is football family friendly these days, I would say yes, if you have an income way above £50k a year or you've won the lottery, I have neither so the clubs are losing the next generation of supporters, they will support the Man Utds et al instead
