That Mail article is probably the biggest load of old guff I've ever read, completely designed to get hits to the website and nothing more. I wouldn't even know where to start in destroying their utterly bizarre ratings!!
Yeah, it was a bit of an open goal to be fair! Little Billy is good as gold thanks, he had his kit on for the first time for the game on Saturday so he appears to be a good omen so far!
Now I'm lost. Does that mean we don't need KIO or Munky doing the next match day thread if Billy wears his kit?
Yeah but it puts us well ahead of the Binners overall and in nearly every category so I'm going to take it
This is the sort of debate to have with mates down the pub and really cannot be taken overly serious or made to be too scientific. It is a moot point to a degree whether each team could be a couple of places higher or lower but to me the crowd base (coupled with the global fanbase, which itself is surely pretty hard to determine) should be more important than some of the other factors. In my view it comes down to the old sleeping giant tag and clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday are 'bigger' to me than say Southampton who only in recent yeras have seen their crowds swell due to their new stadium. The Dell was quite pokey and was still rarely full and on top of that they have not won very much at all and so I am a little bemused by their current ranking. I am not trying to pick on Southampton but use them purely as an illustration.
Southampton are currently the Media darlings (Rightly so, they've been very very good this season) so they almost get a free pass. When you think about it Norwich have punched well above their weight for some time now. We're lucky to have a huge area to capture fans from with little to no competition and we got into the top league at the right time as the money was flowing in so the club have been able to develop pretty well over the last 20 or so years (Barring the slip into league 1)
