    Too many for my liking as I lost track of who I was counting. If you feel like it take at a look at George Hardwick who was a short stop manager in 1964. The board had been picking the team for a couple of months as they looked around for a manager, Hardwick was a journalist who got the job and was was having some good success in righting things. The board did not keep him as they reckoned he was too free with his information to his press contacts.

    In many peoples eyes it was an opportunity lost to hang onto a man who had shown he was capable of great things.

    Magical as in the sense it was first experience of Sunderland matches, wouldn't have mattered if we were top flight or bottom. It would still have been magical for me.
