Adrian Durham never misses an opportunity to have a pop at us..I think he must have been on the receiving end of a beating from one of our lot in the past or something..
The does seem to be something endemically wrong within the club though RAW. From top to bottom. Its been alluded to by several managers. I wonder how ES feels about his club being referred to as a basket case. I'd be bloody furious and I'd be giving the board a hard time about it.
I have no doubt that the there are problems with some of our players, but Durham always slags the club off at every opportunity..
What an abolute mong, he makes all these claims of Whickham's greatness while in the Championship/England u17s... Well guess what, hes now in the big boys leauge and there is a big difference in class of players. Hate idiots like this!
Pointless article when this is his opening sentence: "Connor Wickham's career was flying while he was at Ipswich Town". Wickham's career was never flying, at Ipswich or otherwise. He was a promising youngster at best. Bruce probably bought him thinking he could do what Andy Carroll was doing at the time. Not bothering to read the rest of it, the bloke obviously knows very little.
And just to add, where was the right club? Liverpool? That worked out for Andy Caroll Man City? Forgot how big Johnson, Rodwell and Sinclair are now... If he went to any big club he would have rotted on the bench even more than he did at SAFC.
I hate idiots like you, Andy, who name call/take the mickey out of disabled people . . . . who can't even defend themselves What an arsehole
Possibly not given the article is so subjective BUT he shows his bias in some contradictions e.g. Connor's wonder goal, picked up in his own half and carried all the way through as an example leading to a conclusion that he's clearly an out and out CF by the end. Now I don't know about anyone else but that's not a description of a CF to me ( but I do like to see the lad in full flow when he gets up a head of steam from the halfway line.) If I recall correctly, in his final season for Ipswich he played more in RM than anywhere else. AD might be better off asking how many of the last 10 seasons worth of England U17 and above squads have actually managed to graduate to EPL let alone full caps? The drop out rate is phenomenal ( sure someone like Funky will be able to do the number crunching ). To heap a lack of progress of CW on our club is speculative to say the least and perhaps Championship is his level - time will tell. From what I've seen of CW ( as season card holder I've seen my fair share ) he hasn't got the greatest first touch, despite AD's recollection, in fact on many occasions it's bloody awful. Perhaps he should concentrate more on the lads personality coupled with the overall failure of the English game to fulfill it's duty of care to young players who have a kings ransom thrown at them because they've shown some potential than have a go at us!
Perhaps Adrian Durham should be reminded of a certain Jordan Henderson who learnt his trade at SAFC at top level.
Harry Redknapp has also just had a go at us, according to him we are the worst team in the Premier League. What more does Dick need to motivate his players than to pin that article to the dressing room wall and play the tape of Redknapps comments. If they have any pride left that should spur them on.
We should be playing him at CF if you ask me. But it's a bit rich calling us a basket case of a club. The managers we brought in (bar PDC) have all had decent pedigree and MON's was exceptional. Just didn't work out. It's not for want of trying and he could look at Leeds, Blackpool, Pompey etc. before he picks on us.
What is his qualifications first to start with ? has he managed a team before. TRUE strikers do not need any help from team mates, Bent, Gabbiadini, pop robson, Rowell. Whickham etc are players not any where near the players I have mentioned who I have seen play here. I wiil admit super Kev needed Quinn sometimes. Out of 100's of players signed here since the 1960's I reckon only Kev, Rowell and a few others could play in the top division, this club is a shambles at the minute, and Ellis needs to come out and explain what has happened and what will happen next. And Whickham should have went to WHU. As for Fletcher he is taking the p***.
The bloke is a bell end, he's made a career out of saying inflammatory things on the radio and encouraging people to phone in and argue with him for £1.50 a minute, which is probably why he's a columnist for a top notch newspaper such as the daily fail. As far as Wickham is concerned, we have mismanaged him and have to take some responsibility in him not reaching his potential yet but I would say that the main issue with him is between his ears. His attitude at times is great, we've all seen him have games where he puts himself about and is a real handful and he looks like a really dangerous striker. Unfortunately more often than not that attitude is missing and that isn't something the club can do a great deal about.
The stations theme tune should be bring on the clowns, only Hawksby is worth listening to, the rest are a shambles at best.
