If Mahrez was that "injured", then I guarantee that he would not have been able to roll around like that.
My personal view of it was, yes it was a very tough challenge, but nowadays it seems you can't tackle like that which is a shame. Mahrez did make a meal of it, like most do, as he wasn't limping afterwards or had to be taken off from it. It seems it is part of the game at the moment where players roll around pretending to be injured and as soon as a yellow/red card is shown, they ae up and about again. Saying that, I was out of my seat screaming for a red lol
At least Mahrez took some impact, unlike that joke Chadli on Saturday who was rightly booked for the most theatrical of simulations - have to say I hate the rolling around that is prevalent in the game these days - had a knee operation at 19 largely needed as a result of some pretty tough tackles that were deemed allowable back in those days ('it's a man's game' - actually translated as 'some assaults ignored') - believe me when I say that after the worst of them I could not have rolled anywhere - in fact it was a case of almost begging not to be moved ... when someone is seriously injured they NEVER roll ... as such, most rolling is exagerration and aimed at getting the tackler punished, a red card ... now if it's a bad tackle the tackler has to be punsihed ... but the 'roller' should be warned that he is is verging on a yellow too if he persists or does it again ... the danger is that both players end up with a yellow which would not be equitable if the tackle was indeed yellow card worthy in the first place ...
