Afternoon, pilgrims. I’m not one to question Mr Henderson, my gosh only a fool would do that, but I am slightly intrigued as to why tomorrow at Southwell (4.20) he is running Taylor, what a lovely name for a mare by the way, in a novice hurdle as opposed to a handicap where she can exploit the ridiculously low perch of 113. Anyway, as they say round my way, ‘In Mr Henderson we trust’, and I won’t dwell on the point.

TAYLOR was a very good filly in Bumpers, last season, finishing 3rd at Cheltenham and on debut 4th in a Listed heat across the water. In between those 2 races the old girl changed hands, for a 6 figure sum, and was sent to Mr Henderson. Had you told the forum’s favourite trainer, at the commencement of the campaign, that after 2 runs over hurdles Taylor would be handicapped so lowly I’m sure he would have choked on his GnT but given how highly she was rated by connections earlier in the term I think she’s worth another chance tomorrow to finally get everything right. In saying that though she didn’t run poorly last time out as the winner (who beat Taylor 10.25 lengths) has subsequently come out and won a Listed Hurdle.

Tomorrow’s opponents don’t look the greatest batch of Mares every to line up before the old boy starter and if Taylor is ever to fulfil her potential over timber she really ought to be obliging of the morrow. ‘Dazzler’ Jacob rides because of his agreement with the mare’s owners.

    Good luck, troops.

Hey Stick, have a look at the 525 tomorrow ! Stephens runs Modulus, no relation to Modus who he's ran in the champion bumper but do we think this could make a winning start?

    Did I notice? LOL
I have taken the tens, half brother to a bumper winner.
I am torn though as I really like Sugar Train, tried to talk the don into taking a share in him with me! Its a decent bumper for a Tuesday.

I took the 10's as Stephens knows the time of day!!! But I think u may be right! Splitting the stakes in those 2 should yield some profit

Did Champagne Agent and Frankies promise in singles & e/w double at Hexham
Would require more than a leap of faith to see either come in

CRUACHAN 7-1 Hexham 4:10 has to have a big chance off his last winning mark now back to the right trip and track. Has had a pipe opener and should be raring to go tomorrow.

    Morning all!!

A Not606 flavoured Yankee for me...

    3:10 Sthw - RHAPANDO 13/2
I backed this one in December after Bob posted it up. It won well and a whole host of winners have come out of that race. Pulled up last time but if it can match Decembers form, he will take some stopping.

    3:35 Hex - APACHE PILOT 4/1
Stands a good chance of following up last weeks win in this lower grade race. My pick so certainly the only one to be beaten today.

    4:20 Sthw - TAYLOR 2/1
SBC's confidence will do for me.

    5:25 Sthw - MODULUS 10/1
    Sponged off Boil and Stick.

    Good luck fellas!!

This really is a poor race, but if the selection can run like he did 2 starts ago when 2 lengths behind Present Lodger (won again since and pair well clear) he should go really close back down in this grade!!

I looked at that TC and he has a change of headgear which could work its magic and wouldn't put you off. Just a few others that I think may be better handicapped

If you don't even think of England as our team in the CWC and just watch the rest of the games as a neutral then you're having a brilliant time watching the cricket.

    Loved that Africa NZ match.

Is old boy Stick around??? I see that Vosne Romanee has been given a hurdling entry, after a gap of 6 months, at Ascot on Sunday. And in no run of the mill event either – it’s a £40,000 contest. Looks more than capable of going very close off 126 to my eye. Will he run???

Looks likely to have a low impost as Alan King has already jocked up Hutchinson to ride Karezak off 142 in the race.
