What an absolute load of drivel! He has made more saves yes, because he isnt a bloody unprofessional, the problem is the amount of mistakes he has cost us. His mistakes got us out of europe and soon they will get us out of the PL...why Bruce continues to pick him and why people stand up for him is a mind f**k

I've been trying to defend him most of the season but he needs to be replaced.

He's been out for most of the season, so I can't see how that is possible. In fact to date he has played 15 games.

He hasn't been out for most of the season, he's played in 15 of their 29 games and he's made a lot of mistakes in those games(most Leicester fans don't even think he should be starting).

McGregor undid all the hard work of the outfield players yesterday, by conceding that third goal. It's really disappointing.

They played 3 upfront, well two wingers and a striker.

We played no one upfront, that was the difference.

I'd go for Mattia Perrin of Genoa, he's the best young prospect I've seen in years and we'd get him for under £8m if we move fast. That might sound a lot for a keeper but what else would you spend your money on in the summer? I think we're pretty covered elsewhere. And we could easily out-do the wages he'll be on there.

He'll be Italy's keeper for the next 15 years when Buffon retires.

I wrote this on here about 5 months ago about Perin, great minds think alike then, or watch Italian football on BT Sport!. Mcgregor is well up to the job but we need two keepers competing, not one at retirement age and another one with nervous issues (jak and Harper) As for Mcgregor not saving that shot, it's not even a 'howler' as I've seen it hysterically described by one of the kneejerkers, he should have saved it but it was close in and he had gone the other way already

Yep  It's no exaggeration to say every time I see him play he seems to keep Genoa in the game and if it wasnt for him I suspect they'd be in a relegation dogfight rather than comfortable midtable. He mustve earned them 10 points alone this season and that's the difference with a top quality keeper.

Really? I think it was an appalling failure for a top flight goalkeeper. The ball wasn't hit with much pace, no deflection, clear view and more or less straight at him.

Just goes to show then that he is a ****tier goalkeeper than Mac and we shouldn't touch him with a barge pole

how can you say schmeichel has made more mistakes when he has played half as many games. That is an annoyingly stupid thing to come out with! ....worst of all I can't believe you are trying to defend McGregor on that argument!

the most frustrating thing is he only had 3 shots to save. and chelsea scored 3....for our defence to only let chelsea have 3 shots is excellent. I agree the defence didn't do there job on the first 2 goals and maybe should of marked tighter for the 3rd. However not all shots on target go in but In our case they generally do!

I agree with just about all that you say, especially the point that it is a position that is worthy of serious investment; but I would just like to point out to the daft twats who are slating him that if they were watching the game, instead of acting likes fools posting on here (the first half on the match thread was a huge embarrassment), the goalkeeper for the league leaders made a far worse blooper (although I could see some weak excuse for it) then redeemed himself like a found-again Jussi Jääskeläinen at his very best. The only difference was we lost and they won - how fortunate were they! <laugh>

If that's aimed at me(you obviously haven't figured out how to work the 'reply' button, so it's hard to tell), then it's not stupid at all.

Firstly, the amount mistakes isn't dependent on the amount of games he's played, if he made 3 mistakes a game, for 15 games, it would be far too many.

Secondly, I wasn't defending McGregor with it, I think we need a new keeper in the summer, my point was there's not much point in replacing him with a keeper who makes as many, if not more mistakes than the current one does.

Thirdly, I'd avoid calling anybody stupid on here, unless you're trying to be ironic.

I think that's a bit unfair on mac as the first and second goals were really well taken, especially costa's, daws wasn't tight and turned his back when he shot,I don't know why defenders do that, take one in the face for the team to stop a goal.
