I think his best goal has to be the opener against Everton. Though I think the hat trick against the Binners was probably more memorable. The goals start about 8 minutes in.
Too many to pick a favourite, what a guy, not sure fans of other teams will ever understand just how many of those goals were massive
The header into the Kop will always stand out for me. That was moment we really announced ourselves as a Premier League team and looked like we belonged up there with the big guns.
This may sound strange, but watching that reminded me a bit of Crouchie. They both had the ability of something different, and making the ball stick. If he had been blessed with a bit more pace I suspect he would have had a career with the top teams.
Has anyone been watching Crystal Palace recently? Glenn Murray is another one of those types of strikers. He never looks like he's doing things well but he knows how to bully defenders and get into great positions, where he usually scores from! Fits perfectly with Palace's pace down the wings approach. If they could get a decent defence they could really push on next season, Unless Man U decide to buy Zaha back!
There is an earlier video on Youtube that shows how his quality grew after he joined us, each goal get more impressive than the last....shame he threw his toys out of the pram....but when Hooot'n started playing him wide I suppose you cant blame him
That's a bit harsh. It was clear he wanted back oop North for family reasons. Don't think he had much to gripe about at Norwich otherwise. Legend status assured!
Half of them are form Wes! League 1 and Champ he was an assist machine! He's come back into that form again now.
He really was an awesome player for us, not many influenced the club as much as him, certainly in the last 20 years there is probably only Huckerby and Hoolahan who are close.
Think about it properly, I'd say that his splayed leg, flying half-volley vs either Burnley or Barnsley (I can never remember which) is my favourite of his. It just looked so unnatural but I feel it sums up Holt's ability and commitment to get on the end of pretty much anything. No doubt the most legendary player in my short time supporting the club.
