i will run a vote, but as the season draws to a close who are your suggestions for player of the year I feel all these are due consideration in no particular order. Silvestri Byram Cook Cooper Mowatt Rudy Antenucci Morrison Bellusci Any others, any supporting statements for any of these?
seen as we have had so many we could have a poll for coach of the year, but no one is worth a nomination.
There hasn't been anyone who I feel has been outstanding compared to the rest of the team this year, no one has really been on fire for us. I'd go for Cook, just for how unexpected it was that he would be such an important player for us this year.
Silvestri ... won us far too many points on his own, and that penalty save against Ipswich was particularly satisfying Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Probably silvestri, its gotta be either him or Cook. They are the only 2 players that I can think of to have even played enough games this season to be considered.
You took some of words right out my mouth Billy. and to add, He's played brilliant to keep us at a draw when we come from behind, he's played brilliant to keep us at a draw when the opposing team equalised, he's played brilliant to enable us to hang on to our 1-0 wins, and wins by 1 goal, and as Billy mentioned, the penalty save against Murphy (Ipswich) won us the match. Silvestri has won us quite a few matches, especially when we were playing dire. Yes he's had a couple of bad games, but so has every player in team, and some even more.
Silvestri does come to mind, but that is saying that there is something wrong with our midfield and defence!! Cook has caught my eye this season, well thats the six times they have been on live out here this season, like i have said before this lad reminds me of a young Paul Scholes, can we get into the PL before he is lured away.
I think I'd vote Silvestri Cook excites me the most for his potential but actual contribution I think Silvestri edges it For me no one else comes close Not even our top striker with the perfectly formed goal talley
Surprised no one's mentioned Mowatt, plenty of goals from midfield in a team that doesn't score many. Some say he's only in the team because he's one of Redfearn's academy kids but his goals have shown he's there on merit.
I thought about adding him into my considerations but he hasn't really been all that consistent, to be fair he has played wide left a fair bit. He had a good run in November and again recently but apart from that he's been below average especially compared to some of the games in his first season. I like the lad but he's got a long way to go yet
Silvestri to shade it from Cook. Some of his early season performances when nobody else was performing, earned us some valuable points which ultimately kept us away from the relegation zone, were terrific. I'm sure he's had many man of the match awards
You might have to keep that option open 2020, with 7 games to go he might get a wobbly deflection, or one might miraculously deflect back off corner flag and spin it's way under keepers legs, or, he might trip over and one goes in off his R's. Anything can happen in this league....
I rather like Charlie Taylor who has been so good we havent missed Warnock and 2 Silvestri the best keeper for years and once he gets his catching and distribution right the best we have ever had!
