Well TBH I think a few of our clubs have got into the dark arts of the game now. Some good looking Champions league ties btw... Barca v PSG and a Madrid derby.
1 Watford 38 33 72 2 Middlesbrough 38 32 72 3 Bournemouth 38 39 70 4 Norwich 38 31 67 5 Derby 39 26 67 6 Brentford 38 12 65 7 Wolves 39 11 65 Derby are on a horrible run.
Look what may have happened at Stevenage yesterday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32005492 If he is found guilty, could we recall Jakubiak from his loan at D&R on the basis we don't want one of our youngsters being a team-mate to someone who does that?
just think stevenage could beat the scum and take there play-off place in the last game of the season
Has there been any comment on the FA's proposals for home grown and EU players in the Prem? If there has I've missed it. What strikes me is that their proposal will increase the prices paid for foreign players which will give the rich clubs more power and make the competition even less fair. Add to that the way Prem clubs can steel youth players from other clubs it seems that the fantasy that these measures will improve the national team will take precedence over the the quality of lower league teams. How long till they select the Premier League teams and ban promotion and relegation? They will say that they are creating centres of excellence.
But its only for non-eu player making it harder to get a work permit. And to add more home grown players .
Apparently if the rules suggested had been in place over the past 4 years only 8 of 24 non EU players would have been prevented from signing so will it make much of an impact? Clubs will just buy more players from the likes of Spain/France etc as suggested. The real issue is the development of young players and the fact so many have overseas youth players in their Academies.
o deep joy the sxxx up the road has only won 1 in 8 and statto forecast they will end up in 9th lol lets hope stevenage take the points in the last game of the season and knock the sxxx out of fthe play offs .PS statto forecast us to to be joint 2 ond .
I do like that they are trying to make teams 'grow their own' but also think club's academies need more protection. I doubt there is not a lot they can do... Can obviously say that a youngster cannot change academies until the age of 16/18 but then what if his family does genuinely move area! As for the non-eu work permit issue - I'm sure they will just find new ways around the rule if need be... I'm sure the manager has a daughter they can marry off or something! It is good they are trying to address the issue, unfortunately it's far too late and the money now involved gives far too much power to the clubs rather than the governing body!
