Well, you could be right Syd, but if we couldn't score against Leicester then I doubt we will manage one against Chelsea. There have been bigger upsets of course so I live in hope. Awful amount of weight on N'Doye and Hernandez' shoulders though. I expected Elmo to be at his best against Leicester but he was well held so I couldn't expect him to do much against Chelsea.
If a player can't deal with pressure they shouldn't be a professional footballer. And for the money they are paid. A major problem this season has still been creativity from midfield/crosses, this can limit the number of chances a game. There's no point sitting back from the first minute hoping to cling onto a draw.
Well then what was your point about doubting our chances to score against Chelsea? You were implying that our odds of scoring are relative to the opposition we've played. So I was offering you an example of when that wasn't the case. Arsenal at the Emirates, we scored twice.
They have a better defence than us, a better keeper, a better midfield and better strikers, other than those positions, we should be fine.
We couldn't score against Leicester and have our 'star larker' injured as well as having an 'off the boil' bench-man in Hernandez who, I believe, hasn't played a 90 minute game for us since we signed him. Our performances against Arsenal and Man City were commendable but I do believe we had a better team than we are fielding on Sunday. That, of course, is just my opinion Sterling, and I am expecting to get hammered by some 4 goals to nil by the Premier League Leaders. Nothing would delight me more than to see us 4 - 0 up at half time and then taking off Hernandez and N'Doye, (having scored two goals each) and replacing them with Aluko and Sagbo who each score another goal making us 6-0 winners. This, of course, would be "Cloud Cuckoo-Land" but would nevertheless have the supporters of the Alugbo Brothers telling me that they had 'told me so'!
That's a pretty strange logical line though, because our players couldn't score against the bottom team they won't score against any team in the comp? People play differently under different pressure.
Has anyone said we'd win 6-0 here? Sounds like a great exaggeration to belittle having any hope at all.
After we went down 2-0 in 9 minutes I thought my 4-0 prediction was in the bag but credit to the lads for making a stirring come-back to draw level. Elmo held his own and put in a great performance. Could well have won this 3-1 but that's the way it goes. Well done our lads.
