Where is he ? They normaly wheel them out at the acadamy with a scarf above his head with a bank of cameras talking about fighting the good fight. So far just little snippets probable straight out of the press office.
please log in to view this image Advocaat firmly focused Published: 20 March, 2015 by Stuart Vose "You have to look at yourself and have confidence in yourself". Dick Advocaat wants to keep his focus firmly on his own side as he gets his coaching career in the Barclays Premier League under way. The 67-year-old takes his Black Cats to West Ham’s Boleyn Ground on Saturday to kick off a nine-game stint after signing a contract until the end of the season. The Hammers have endured a difficult run of recent form but are still inside the division’s top 10 by four points. Sam Allardyce’s side will be looking to get back on track, but they will face a Sunderland side looking to pull away from the relegation zone under their new boss. And Advocaat’s pre-match approach is a simple one – to infuse confidence in the side and focus on their own game. “There is no need to say so much – it is important what we do,” he said. “We know West Ham are a strong side, very physical. They have done well so far except the last period, but before that they had an excellent run. “They are a difficult side to play but every game is difficult. There is no need for us to always look up – you have to look at yourself and have confidence in yourself. “That is the most important thing.”
DA: 'I'm looking forward to the challenge, this is a great football club' DA: not being drawn on whether Adam Johnson will be involved at West Ham DA: [On the north east derby] 'I hope to achieve the same as my predecessors, a positive result in one of their first games in charge'
New #SAFC boss Dick Advocaat has told the press this morning that every player who trains has an opportunity to start v West Ham DA: 'I'm a coach that likes to control games. I have seen #SAFC have not done a lot of that. It needs to change' Dick Advocaat on why he took #safc job: "“In my opinion, it's a good side, a great club – why not?" DA: 'A number of the under-21s have been involved in training. Watmore has done well and could feature tomorrow.' On relegation fight: "We are now in a situation where we are playing more or less at the bottom of the league, so something has to change." DA: 'The fans need to know something is changing. We need them behind us, they can be our 12th man. We must show them what it means to us'
Advocaat will make a decision regarding his squad for this weekend during todays' final session - Johnson could come into contention
TBH, after Poyet I hope he keeps his talking to a minimum ........ sick of hearing about how we need to support the team etc.
"every player who trains has an opportunity to start v West Ham" "A number of the under-21s have been involved in training" I quite like the sound of that. Watmore got a mention, anybody know who the others were?
would like to know what odds we'd get for not losing any of our 9 reaming fixtures until the season end -I'd stake a couple of quid on it, I've a good feeling regarding this chap's appointment
