I dont think it even is a discussion. The only people who claim the Premier League is the best in the world are those selling the product via tv rights. I can 100% guarantee if Sky lost it and had to push La Liga or Bundesliga those would be 'the best league in the world'. I know they're selling, but it makes them look as stupid as Hull councillors talking about one of the world's greatest cities..
Best in terms of what? Income? Yes. Competitive? Yes. Entertainment? Sure. Easy to get to games? Yes, mostly. Value for money? Depends on your circumstances I guess. For me, yes it is. Refereeing. No.
What is this based on? I suspect you'll trot out the current well-used myth that the Premier League is the only one were teams at the bottom take points off teams at the top.
I'd love to reply but as I've now finished my dump and had a shower, I have a life to get on with and money to earn. Thanks for breaking in to your busy day to look at the post however.
Italian and spanish and German football are generally ****ing ****e. I don't care how 'good' these technical players are, it's boring to **** most of the time.
That's true of pretty much any league. I mean that its not a cert who'll win it or go down. You can hazard some ball park type guesses around positions, but every year there are some surprises, top and bottom of the league. Are you suggesting it isn't competitive?
Not at all. I'm suggesting the major leagues are about as competitive as each other. Someone posted the other day the stats regarding winners and in the history of the Premier League the winners was less diverse than other leagues.
Oh fair enough, actually, I just realised my post was in response to "The most competitive", whereas I was just going for general competitiveness. I feel a bit bad for discussing seriously something in a thread Mussie clearly meant to be a mockery of the thing we all enjoy. Still, **** him eh?
I still can't work out why I can watch WBA vs Burnley, but get bored of Real Zaragoza vs Osasuna really quick. The Premier League might not be as good technical as EPL, but I still enjoy the type of football. It's bit like music. You can listen to a Steve Vai or Yngwie Malmsteen song that maybe technical amazing, but it just seems soulless. But a simple 3 chord punk song is not very technical, but it's still more enjoyable.
I think it's a case of familiarity. Most fans know players of other teams to which they can relate to. We know the teams. The more knowledge you have about the participants the more you enjoy it. I couldn't even tell you much about Zaragoza or Osasuna.
