Yeah we are just. A make up the numbers team Never gonna really challenge in that or euro champs either
What do you suppose might happen if (unlikely I know) so called ISIS gain influence or even control of Qatar? Or even merely look like doing so? Is the Qatar World Cup a trap?
I'd keep the PL programme running.....it would sort out where the strength in depth is by letting fringe players have a run out while the WC is on
Whooah steady on teams might have to resort to using academy products that have been raised on their indoor 3G pitches
To be fair, If England somehow managed to win that, it would be the best ****ing Christmas ever. The chances of that of course are none to none.
On the fifth Day of Christmas My true love gave to me Five go-o-old rings .... .... presented to Mr S Blatter in the spirit of footballing fraternity from the grateful nation of Qatar ....
I'm not optimistic about England at all but how can you write them off already? We don't know what the any of the teams will be like including England. We might have the next Messi coming through that we don't know about.
Anyone know if Fifa are using July 2015 rankings? I assume if they are we might just sneak into the 1st Pot for the qualifiers. If we are in pot 2 we could be in some trouble.
I think that's when the draw for qualifiers is. Just wondering if they are using the rankings up until then to decide which pot we are in.
Spanish league challenges Fifa over switch in 2022 World Cup dates The Spanish football league is challenging Fifa’s decision to switch the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to November-December. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) says the Spanish league (LFP) has filed an appeal against the Fifa decision, which would mean the tournament avoids the Qatari summer heat. But a November-December tournament would also force top European leagues to shut down for eight peak weeks and require more summer fixtures. This is the first formal legal challenge to moving the World Cup in Qatar from the traditional June-July slot. The court has not set a hearing date. Fifa’s executive committee approved the change in March, 18 months after requesting a global consultation. The Spanish league is a member of the European Professional Football Leagues group, which was consulted. Fifa rejected a proposal by European clubs and leagues to play in May-June. The Spanish sports newspaper As quoted the LFP president, Javier Tebas, as saying he had filed the lawsuit “in defence of the interests of the clubs that are contributing to the international teams”. According to As, Tebas submitted three independent expert reports to Cas which concluded the LFP would lose €65m (£24.5m) by moving the World Cup to the winter.
