Kane is flavour of the month with the press/media so not a surprise. In a way pleased that Charlie is not involved as he really doesn't need the distraction of International football at this time.......now when he scores another 10 goals this season and we stay up then he'll deserve a call up for the summer friendlies.....

Won't be getting injured on International duty then. That's a relief.

Hodgson was at our recent game against Spurs. Kane took his chances and Charlie didn't. Not surprised.

Kane should be in the squad but so should Charlie.

    Welbeck shouldnt!!

Most premier league goals he's ever scored in a season is 9!!! That's playing for United, Arsenal and a stint at Sunderland. With chances tee'd up by Scholes, Sanchez and Rooney in top quality sides he has only managed 9 goals in his best ever return.

Look at his stats. He's dreadful and not a goalscorer

Put him in a weaker side and you'll see him for what he is; an athlete not a striker.

It's a joke big club gets you in a side. Look at Cleverley. He's ****e but at United he's an automatic starting 11 England player. Put him in a Villa side and you see actually he's ****e.

Roy Hodgson is a mug. Charlie's return this season is simply outstanding and his alround game is quality. Look at the maturity he's showed in recent Arsenal and Spurs game. Real class

Build up play is underrated, see Chelsea goal as an example. Clnical finisher scores screamers, tap in's, headers

Welbeck's managed 2 goals this year in the league. What a joke!! How would he manage relying on service from Karly Henry, SWP and Joey fecking Barton in a side with no possession where half the season the previous manager didn't even bother trying to score away from home?!

    Not surprised in the slightest.

Think Kane is a far better player.

Took 3 left backs instead of an extra, in form striker. Says it all.

Only one was going to get in and Kane has more to offer imo, shame for Charlie though lets hope he gets another shot later on.

Thrilled Charlie isn't there from a selfish perspective as it protects him from injury. Disappointed as it yet again proves there is a heavy bias towards the top teams from the England manager, through the FA down to the refs.

If Austin had scored 15 for Man City, Scum or Arsenal he'd be in the squad without question.

Dave's right, you should be selfishly happy that he didn't get called up, they'd all be in his ear about a transfer straight away........ especially the dirty Pool players.

Kane is the superior player but one of Ings/Austin deserved the nod over Welbeck or Sturridge.

Townsend and Walker getting in is laughable.

One more reason for Charlie to move to a more "fashionable" club in the summer. If he'd been playing for Arsenal, Liverpool and the like he would be in the squad.

There are several players picked who have shown little form but play for the right teams, whereas players like Charlie are overlooked. Woy says he picks out of form players because he knows what they can do, on that basis Charlie has no chance and it tells you all you need to know why we'll be just like the England cricket team.

Woy is a 'belt and braces' man, safety first, he probably doesn't fart in the bath so it'll be the usual suspects and Kane has luckily left him no option...

Not good enough yet but surprised me I thought he would be a failure. He won't get injured at least and the top eight clubs won't have him
Everton would be a good fit

Do agree with the comment about taking his chances against Spurs in front of Roy. Also agree with the comment about Cleverley. He thinks he's so good but is such an average player - can't stand the man.

Too true, this is exactly what I thought, yesterday. Kane has shown more than Charlie, but a look at who has scored in the PL this season would suggest that he should be in anyway.
