Haha I got all excited but remembered it was the Metro :(

Either way - quality player with a lot of potential. <ok>

BILD are linking us with Kyriakos Papadopoulos again who now plays for Leverkusen.

Seems to be over the worst of his injury issues and impressing. Last year of his contract so would be cheap.

Quality player but wages and fee would be an issue along with this age

  4. That would see us having a big summer of players leaving and arriving again. I think we need a steady summer with only two or three coming in. Part of the reason we start so slow is because of all the new faces settling in.

Having said that, I can't disagree with what you say either.

See what you're saying but Lambert, Borini and Balotelli have featured so little it wouldn't make a difference if we straight swapped most/all of them for better options. It's not like they have any huge motivational influence in training and in the dressing room either. Think it's midfield and defence where we need to keep it stable the most. Although we still need another quality CB to come in.

Not really - the biggest problem is that Rodgers completed ballsed up the tactics for 3-4 months, and showed little faith in the new players other than Lovren, Lambert and Lallana.

Players like Coates, Lambert, Borini won't be missed. Just get rid of them.

And if a decent offer comes in for Lallana and Lovren, I'd sell them too.

  8. I suppose I'd have to stick to my principles here and say no thanks because he's a lazy batard <yikes>

    #3688
  9. Or he took his time with them allowing them to settle. As I said before, if he'd stuck them straight into the team and they'd have taken as long to settle, they would have all been deemed failures within a few games and had all on to fight back from that position; aka Lucas, Kuyt, Hendo, Allen, etc. whether you think its right or wrong, he showed more faith in those three since they'd already proved themselves in the PL.

    Fair point.

But he dropped Sakho for Lovren, and continued to play the likes of Gerrard and Johnson week in week out.

If we lost Lambert, Mario and Borini.....would we really notice? Adding two strikers should be something we can absorb. Ideally, I don't want anymore than 3 new lads (plus Origi) for the reasons you point out......Up front, we have really been lacking this year. Should be our priority to sort <ok>

The other area I'd strengthen is the RWB position. CM and CB areas are covered for the time being, surprising well too....Yes, they could be stronger in some cases but we have other priorities imo. My views have changed in just a few weeks so I'll probably change them again before the end of the season! <laugh>

See rumours of us being interested in Jaanmat from Newcastle. Not really seen loads of him to know whether he'd be a good player for us or not...

What would you call a good offer for Lallana?
I sawhim a few times at the world cup and he looked decent.

    £18m.

  15. No way I'd sell Lallana. Very good squad player that impacts on the first team. Only reason people have a issue with him is because he cost £25m, if he'd been a £10m signing no one would be slating him.

Actually, I would expect more from him even for £10m.

He's had very little impact. Being a hard worker and looking stylish is the only reason he's not received more criticism.

    Good squad player - yes.

    First teamer - nowhere near.

I like Lallana. I think people just miss what heads because it is more subtle, unlike Coutinho's slick footwork and passing, or Sterling's pace and dribbling, which are very obviously showy and entertaining, Lallana's movement and ball work is very good and efficient and works well with pacey and tricky players around him, its just not so obvious to see on TV or as entertaining as what the other two mentioned do. I think the trio of the three works very nicely.

Football is a squad game any way. We should not just be looking at the 11 as the team,we should be looking at the 25. The good squad players are highly value. If you think Lallana is a good squad player you should think he is important.

Seems to get lots of assists, as a fullback I'd guess most of those are from Freekicks and crosses, we don't really have players to score those types of goals.
Also when I've seen him doesn't look great defensively, but that could just be Newcastle, in fact he looks abit like a Johnson mk II

Goalkeeper? Migs has improved this season but we need a decent back up that can step up when needed.

Give him time he can come good like Henderson. It took Henderson nearly three years to be
    on his present level.<whistle>
