Just think Mata deserves a start and with it likely to be nervy early on, a player like Mata will do better than a Di Maria. Later in the game you would expect more space. Imagine its 0-0 after an hour, Liverpool have run miles as they press continuously. Someone like Di Maria comes on. Not something your players would be looking forward too.
