Massive risk hiring someone with no PL experience, it will be a culmination of years of bad decision making if we go down and deserved at that.

Our current system is ****ed, I can appreciate merits of DoF but in our case it hasn't worked at all. Our team is a mix of signings made by Gus and signings made by Congerton. The Defoe signing stands out to me, I reckon Gus asked for a goalscorer, he was given one, yes, but not one that suits his system that he was brought in to implement.

Some of our results have been truly ****ing awful. Villa especially so not surprised Gus has gone, his comments about fans were stupid as well. Lost his way. So not strictly coming out in support of him, just saying, we will never progress until the way the club is run is sorted. 8 years and no progress and the time of blaming managers for that should stop.

Will us staying up result in any significant changes? Or will we continue this cycle we're on? Some people resent the idea of the Championship, but unless Short brings someone in who has played the game to advise him I can't see us scraping survival changing much. Hope I'm wrong.

Reading in to the fella He's exactly what we need imo. Our squad is best suited to 433, it's been built that way. We've also got discipline problems. Dick plays variations of 433 and is a disciplinarian. Ticks the boxes of exactly what we need. Yes he doesn't have premier league experience but that counts for little with me. They're are many out their with premier league experience yet they can't get a job in this league. It would be nice but not the be all. Dick has experience in Scotland and Holland, these are pretty fast leagues. If he came off the back years of experience in italy or Spain I'd be more worried. He's a footy man, you can bet his arse he watches loads of premier league and knows what to expect.

It's not a wow appointment, was never going to be but a good solid appointment imo

Maybe now is the time for Short to take a less hands on back seat and appoint a new Chairman with a footballing background but not as much of a nice guy as Quinny was, also someone who can improve our PR.
