Feisty match at the fake hoops. This lad of theirs Mackie looks useful. Chases everything, fully committed and a real quality finish!;-)

"It's a typical Jamie Mackie goal. It's a great ball into him. Knowing Jamie so well, I thought: 'He's going to hit the target for sure.' He practises and practises and practises. I've got to have a pop at him over his celebration, though. He always does that silly little dance when he scores. He just hasn't got any moves."

Reading are on their way to Wembley, no doubt about that now. Nathaniel Chalobah slips the ball through to Jamie Mackie, who takes two touches and hammers the ball through the legs of Bradford keeper Ben Williams. Great goal.

"I'm not sure how much Filipe Morais knows about that. There didn't seem to be any malice. His eyes are on the ball. It's a silly challenge, but it's a harsh red card. Mike Jones went to his back pocket very quickly. He didn't give himself time to think. I'm surprised he's done that. It's ruined a competitive cup tie. It's sad. Morais doesn't deserve that."

I personally have nothing against Reading and would love the underdog to beat Arsenal.

Does anyone have a clue what the commentator is on about in the Arsenal game when he says the offside decision against Koscelny was correct?

He was onside when the initial ball was played, but was flagged offside when the Monaco defender headed it.

    How is that correct?

A powerful offensive display by Arsenal - I thought they had the winning goal late on when Sanchez seemed to interfere with Giroud's shot.

Regarding the Koscielny effort, it would appear that he was onside, so perhaps just as well he missed.

A terrible miss! Laurent Koscielny smashes against the crossbar from just a few yards out after Monaco make a hash of clearing a free-kick. A big chance for the Gunners. The offside flag was up but that free-kick was flicked on by a Monaco head!

The commentator made a big deal of saying that the offside decision was correct because it wasn't a deliberate header by the defender.

That's a new one on me.

Am I right in thinking that Ligue 1 now has more teams in the last 8 of the Champions League than the mighty 'best league in the world' premiership?

As much as I loved him, he wasn't Premier league quality I am afraid.
I don't think he would have been the difference this season somehow.

Maybe not, but he showed more quality that season we survived than many of the club's subsequent signings. It was either a mistake letting him go, full stop, or a mistake not replacing him with better signings. Probably the latter, but I'd take him over Hoilett on the evidence to date.

He was great occasionally in the PL, Liverpool home, City away, but usually you wouldnt know he was playing other than as s Cheerleader.
