The question asked by the OP is, should Ramsey move aside. The answer to that is a simple no. He didn't choose himself for the job. Others thought he had the ability and they duly appointed him till the end of the season. He should stay where he is until the Summer and the club should choose a successor then. Personally, I think that it was a bad decision to appoint Ramsey as the man didn't have the experience required for a relegation battle. I think it was a knee jerk decision by TF based on one result, ie. away to Sunderland. You can't go appointing coaches based on one match. There is one man still at the club who should take the responsibility for our second relegation in three years and for me, that man is TF.
The only point in getting a new Manager now would be to keep us up. Possibly Colin would give us a better chance than CR. I like CR but Colin has pulled us out the fire before and could just to it again.
Agree, absolutely no point in doing anything now. 5 games ago everyone was saying that CR was the best thing since sliced bread just because we managed to beat the next worse team (form wise) in the league.
He should have either sacked HR & brought in a replacement or backed him enough to at least bring in 1 or 2 loans but to do nothing was just plain stupid.
It would be ludicrous to ask Ramsey to step aside now. What would that particular piece of knee jerk activity say about our club? He's hardly been given a chance and there are no outstanding candidates out there at the moment. Let's see what he can do for the remainder of the season and then take our time to appoint the right man in the Summer, which, although things haven't shaped up well so far, might even be Chris Ramsey.
Judging by what people expect, I think perhaps CR should step aside. As long as we can find someone with the following qualifications/skills then we can all admit the mistakes made by the current appointment:- a) Experienced in PL but young and not paid too well. b) Not failed in at least last 2 appointments. c) Doesn't play hoof ball. d) Can get instant results with an injury hit team that doesn't have experienced players that actually play in every position (ie RB) while playing a "QPR brand" of football (see c) ). e) Can turn youngsters that have come through an average youth system into players equipped to deal with the best in the league instantly. *nb 1 f) Good with the media. g) Good with egos. h) Can lure in top class signings. *nb 2 i) Can sell all the unwanted players for big gains but retain the good ones. *nb 3 j) Can reduce the wage bill while increasing the quality of playing staff. k) Can improve the performance of the players we already have. Notes:- 1) Must be PL ready without having actually been risked in competitive games. 2) Must keep wages to a minimum and transfer fees to a minimum. 3) Must also ensure that there is a good quality, 25 man squad that is paid a pittance. There must be hundreds of viable candidates, if not thousands. This board reads like a joke at the moment. An angry, angry joke.
"This board reads like a joke at the moment". I disagree with that line. Read any of the message boards, the fans are all saying the same. People are understandably angry
With the best of intentions alot of money has been thrown and the team and some managers too. Tony has tried to correct the nonsense from the previous owners but his stance as of late is the right one. I would prefer to move alot of these players one and start afresh. We probably need to spend a couple of seasons build a more organic team than what we have now. With hindsight it was a mistake to play a young, light fella against a known physical speed merchant. No point changing anything but the players available. The financial implications of relegation may result in a decade of misery. Fair play to Palace...they've gone from being almost wound up and are almost certainly safe again.
The only bizarre team selection was Saturday!!!!!.......with SWP.............Ok, hes given a youngster or two a chance and good on him but it backfired against Palace but we are down to bear bones and WE DO MISS DUNNE.... Adel needs to play behind a front two imo. Overall (apart from Saturday} much better and unlucky not to pick up a win or two and couple of draws mainly thanks to Joey and referees decisions? My mate met Joey and Charlie at Cheltenham and he asked Joey would we stay up and Joey said "ITS GOING TO BE VERY DIFFICULT" which basically meant NO and that was before Palarse....
