At this stage almost anyone could be the change needed for the one or two results you need. Give Poyet the WHU game as its a tough one and you don't want a new manager coming in to lose the first one. Poyet has it as a shot to nothing and then new manager goes from there - Jol, Reid, Hoddle, etc. Give them until the end of the season and no longer.

Best we can hope for is Allardyce! Though I honestly think he is more likely to stop at West Ham than come here! We are more likely to stop up under anybody else other than Poyet! 2 wins and a draw or two, like Di Canio did, might be enough!

why waste time trying to get somebody who would not come? We have neither the team, league position, timing and financial clout to attract anybody half decent! Allardyce is by far and away the best we can hope for which in itself is a sorry, sad state of affairs!

I can see Ellis pulling the trigger on Pus Poyget, too much money involved to be relegated, the Dutch have some cracking managers and loads would come to Sunderland

We need more than passion mate, you did see the game didn't you? We need someone who can change our style of play, put players in the right positions.
I don't think getting a manager in who's been out of football ages and failed in every job since he left us is the Answer. In fact I think it would be so bad an apointment that I'd back us to finish bottom if we brought him in. Washed up out of touch has been.

Reidy cemented the drinking culture at our club by encouraging it and often joining them. I don't want him anywhere near our club.

Jesus ****ing Christ. We don't want a Messiah mentality like them lot. He is useless, leave him on TV. He has the face for it. Want to see him as a pundit with Jamie Redknapp and Beckham.

John Carver? He's a great manager and awe-inspiring motivator who you can have for a few million. He's already based in the north-east, it's all falling into place...

We need a Tony Pulis type character. Someone who can take the shackles off and instil some inspiration, fire and grit into the team.

He also needs years of man management experience, someone who's going to excite the team just by walking in the room.

**** knows who that is. Just look at the list here. Nothing inspirational there.

I seen the game here yesterday. All the EPL games are on live here now. The least I expect from a Sunderland team is passion. If your not going to run through brick walls playing at the SOL in front of 46,000 then there are serious problems like we have at the moment. Didn't see one bit of passion other than the guy trying to throw his season ticket at Gus. We need someone to come in and apply the jumper cables to the battery...only on a nine game deal...just as PDC did a couple of years ago. We have seen it recently with Pardew, Pullis and now Sherwood and we are in danger of getting cut adrift with the three teams below. We can't seem to score or even create chances. We are fire fighting again....law of averages will dictate one of these times we are not going to get the miracle. We are pretty ****ed to be honest in our options to get someone. It's going to have to be someone who is currently out of contract. It has to be instant impact stuff. I don't think someone like a 'Hoddle' for example would be able to do in it my opinion. Maybe longer term. It has to be someone who knows the club, the area and the passion of getting the fans behind the team. We greatly miss Catts at the moment. The one thing he brings is passion and drive. The in your face stuff.....would like that from the manager. In an ideal world I wish Diego Simeone was from Sunderland....boy does he get in people faces...true passion plus he borders on a nut job at times.I'm open for anyone to come and do the biz to get us safe whether Peter Reid or not but whoever it is I want the team fired up and giving everything they have got on the field.....because that it was what the fans give in stands....and they don't get paid forty grand a week....

    I'd take Steve MaClaren
If I was player hearing Gus give his team and tactics in the dressing room i'd walk out onto the pitch feeling beaten already. They clearly lack motivation, they clearly aren't enjoying their football here that's down to Gus. We need a manager who can play to our strengths so they can enjoy their football, the passion will return by getting the best out of them and keep doing it, not somebody who can give them a prep talk and get a temporary response. That means we need an adaptable manager with clear vision of how he see us developing. Who? **** knows but he needs to be someone who's recently in the game imo, not somebody who hasn't managed in years.

Been racking my brains to think of someone...it's pretty desperate in terms of options. I think if they were some out there....Ellis would have pulled the trigger last night because the scenes yesterday were as bad when Bruce and O'Neil left...and he pulled the trigger then. What about David Moyes then.....would be pretty motivated to show a few in the EPL that he can do it...?

We've got an international break now. It's the time to sack him. I'd settle for Mick Mccarthy over Gus but obviously want better. Mick never ever has money to spend but gets the best out of players who always enjoy their football. Gus is so easy to improve on in reality.Their must be loads out there who'd improve us. But I suspect like most people I want a next level manager which I just don't think we'd get.

    I'd take Moyes BTW
