The reason we failed so miserably at the start of the season wasn't because of so many new signings, but the same reason we've failed in the first half of the previous two season too - Rodgers' insistence in going to his death by passing football without pressing, intensity or counter attack. New players usually take time to settle in, sure, but plenty of players equally come in to new clubs and hit the ground running. Maybe it's our dire season starting tactics which prevents players picking up form when they come in?
1.Brad Jones - why sell? We'd get barely anything, he's done ok when he's played and Mignolet is rarely injured anyway. No point selling only to spend much more on a replacement who'll sit there doing nothing.
2.Glen Johnson - off to Roma on a free. Can't wait.
3.José Enrique - Solid backup to Moreno. Again, would have to spend far more to buy a decent backup.
4.Dejan Lovren - Could still come good.
5. Kolo Toure - Solid and cheap backup. No value in selling.
6.Fabio Borini - Doesn't look like he'll ever get games because he never gets a chance at a decent run. Might as well sell and buy someone Rodgers likes to be a rotation striker rather than a backup striker.
7.Mario Balotelli - Sell sell sell.
