please log in to view this image The family and friends of a lifelong Leicester City fan who passed away on his way to a Foxes match are urging people to applaud for a minute as a tribute to him during this week's game. Terry Orton, 48, of Hinckley, died from a suspected heart attack on February 22 after he collapsed outside Everton's Good Park. Now his family and friends are urging fellow supporters to applaud for the 48th minute, when Leicester City face Hull on Saturday, as a tribute to the 'gentle giant'. His cousin Gary Perrin, 19, said: "Saturday's match will be overwhelming. "Terry had supported Leicester City for more than 30 years - a minute round of applause is definitely something he fully deserves." Gary said that Terry brought him and his brother a season ticket to see Leicester City every year. "Terry rarely missed away games and he has always had a season ticket," he added. Saturday will be the first time Gary and his family have been to watch Leicester City play since terry died. "It's going to be emotional," said Gary, of Leicester. "But Terry will still be there in spirit." A spokesman from Leicester City said the club have been in "regular contact" with Terry's family since he died. He said: "Nine members of the family will be our guests of the Club in the Rowley Suite on Saturday with seats in the Directors Box. "There will also be an acknowledgement in the matchday magazine, along with a personal tribute from Birch, who went to visit the family in person recently." Leicester City ambassador Alan, 'The Birch' Birchenall said the round of applause will be a "great tribute to a lovely bloke". "Saturday will be massive for his family," said The Birch. "And the best way we can celebrate from a football point of view will be winning three points for him - I think he'd be really chuffed with that." http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/m...6149863-detail/story.html#BIUsTQlBjecy0H47.99
We thought this was my birds uncle at first that day until the picture of him was circulated (also a Terry Orton). RIP
I'm sure Hull City fans will join in and that will be really nice for the family, terrible to lose a fan on the way to or from a game.
