With some new faces in the North East for both clubs what would you say would be the best combined XI. I know it's hard when there are a lot of young and unproven players in the premier league, such as cabaye, marveux, wickham, di-wong but just give it a go.

Bit of an odd one putting Gyan ahead of Ba when Ba got 7 goals in 12 games compared to Gyan's 10 in 31. Even Leon Best got a better ratio than Gyan last season. Otherwise I'd agree with your choice . Will be very interesting to see the early derby with so many new players for both teams.

*Not sure who their best CB is, but he's probs better than Taylor right now.

Tried my best not to be biased. In my opinion the only debateable one in there is the keeper.

 

Poor old Colo's going to be knackered by the time the season ends.

 

smudger, keeper isn't debateable imo when fit gordon is superior to any other keeper in the north east. Also o'shea will play cb for us next year and therfore bardsley right back, who is better than simpson

Gordon's never fit though, have the injuries ruined his talent? For me, Krul has proved himself on the big stage, fantastic international debut against Brazil, keeping a clean sheet. Going off your comments, my team would be:

The problem with Gordon is he isn't fit a majority of the time. Bardsley and Simpson is 50/50 and that will probably be decided on what team you support.

Not really, Taylor, Colo and Enrique are better than any of their defenders.

Barton, Tiote, Ben Arfa are better than any of theirs, and if it comes to a choice to playing in the CAM position, i'd play Cabaye because it's not Gardner or Cattermole's ideal position.
