For Cat A you need a full size indoor pitch, along with a much bigger annual financial commitment(roughly double what's required for Cat B).
The 3G is simply to help pass the audit and will be complete 2 days before the audit at the end of April. It's not a huge job it's basically a huge carpet going over the existing flooring.
Well sorry to disappoint you but I think this seems very shady. The arena is not Hull City's, it wasnt built by Hull City and it is not owned by Hull City. It was built by the council as a multi purpose venue to serve the people of Hull. Although this development is good for the club surely we can see that it isnt all about Hull City and if they want a venue with these facilities then why dont they build it themselves? It seems to me there's a lot of selfishness and a 'screw you if you get in the way of City's progress' attitude but I suggest those people might feel differently if their kids or other family members were those enjoying the use of the facility up until now.
If the version we're getting is full and accurate, I totally agree. I'm surprised there aren't conditions in the SMC contract regarding use of the Arena. It hardly promotes the club's image well, especially for a multi-use Community Stadium. If it is for the audit, I asked earlier, but I'm fairly sure it's futile as I don't believe simply having a pitch is enough, it needs to have been used for a set period of time to show its effectiveness and management.
You'd expect that to be the case but would it surprise if the club werent aware and just thought "****, lets get an indoor pitch up asap before the audit and wing it".
According to this document: https://www.goalreports.com/EPLPlan.pdf (page 93) the indoor pitch must be within the confines of the academy for level 2.
This is for the first team i reckon. Didnt Brucey say they had nowhere to train when the ground was frozen in Dec n January?
I am a city fan but have to agree, the SMC run the stadium and the Arena, City and the Egg Chasers have a lease agreement on the stadium but nothing as far as I am aware for the arena. Therefore surely the Arena is a 'true' community venue and should be available to as many people and sports as possible. Yes its good news for City if it means they get CatB Another thought.....wonder if the SMC is forecast to make a profit this year (and have to pay HCC some money) so they are spending some cash to wipe out profits
I'd also have to aim some criticism at the council. As the owners is there no governance in place meaning they have final say over any change of use for the arena, which this clearly is? If not, then they're stupid but just because City can do this doesnt mean that they should.
Maybe. Bruce has mentioned improving training facilities a lot recently which I thought was odd since no one else had mentioned it.
Your right, any new indoor facility must be within the confines of the academy. It seems there is some give and take if the existing facility is not within the confines of the academy.
Yeah, but it's only the benzothiazole, 4-(t-octyl) phenol, zinc, n-hexadecane, butylated hydroxyanisole, lead, cadmium and selenium that you've got to worry about.
The rules posted earlier are out of date, the current rules state... Each Club which operates a Category 1, Category 2 or Category 3 Academy may operate one or more Development Centres, to be located within one hour’s travelling time of the location of its principal venue for the provision of coaching and education to Academy Players. http://www.premierleague.com/conten...s/other/youth-development-rules-2013-2014.pdf
Hopefully this isn't going to be the way of 'the name change sage outcome..' Back to o/t, good for HCAFC , not so good for the community, of which he gives so many 'gifts' ...
