I think manager of the year is superfluous to requirements. If you win the league you've got all you need right there without getting a personal trophy for it.

Remember when Houlier led us to the treble of cups and the LMA gave the award to George Burley for winning promotion with Ipswich.

 

We are - present tense, shortened to we're.

Liverpool ARE doing worse than last season.

Come May when the season's done then you can be definitive as to how much worse it was year on year.

No, I dont see how you got that from what I had written. Anything less than last years performance in the league shows you have been worse

Well that was quite an achievement by Burley, couldn't have a foreigner winning it now could we. Aside from Wenger who won it twice [both times for the double league/cup] no foreign manager has had a sniff, Houllier would have been the first.

 

It was the first time in 26 years that a league title winning manager never received the award, Ferguson who had won that season's title said that Burley deserved it due to his achievement being remarkable.
