    I wonder why?

I'm guessing he's not good enough for the seniors. Must be a sad moment when you realise a tall afro donkey gets picked instead of you. Also must be pretty devastating when you're losing and the manager picks a kid to come off the bench when you were bought in to save the day...

Can`t argue with the facts, he is just nowhere near premier league standard at the moment. I don`t see how we can keep him at the end of the season but would wish him well in the future and hope he gets back to the top of his game again.

Does go to show what a massive risk it can be taking on a player after a bad injury. For every success like RVN, there's a Hargreaves, Shevchenko, Falcao, Torres even. Would be a massive risk United going in for Strootman and there is no way in hell they'll be stumping up 43 million for Falcao.

There was plenty of rumours going around that Liverpool wanted Falcao, but luckily he was far too expensive in wages. I know we took a risk on Balotelli, but these days £16mil isn't too bad considering if we really pushed we could probably offload him somewhere in Europe for a minimum of £10mil. So we dodged dodged a sawn-off shotgun and ended getting hit by a rifle! As I believe we were planning on just buying him straight up, no loan etc. like Utd. Thank **** for them they can send him packing in the summer!

But for me true world class players, should be able to play in any league. Ronaldo for example, brilliant here and even better in Spain. Suarez, brilliant in Holland, incredible in the PL, and has now slotted in to be a major player for Barca. You could bet your life Messi would do the same in any of the leagues. I'm not being biased here but for me those 3 players are the best in the world (for forwards anyway). Suarez in third behind a flip of a coin between Messi and Ronaldo!

I admit the Rat was a good player but he was far too good to play for a club like the RS for any length of time.

I generally agree but I think some players will always struggle with the premier league, which to me is a unique league in many ways.

Had Messi been here rather than Spain for the last 10 years you can guarantee someone would have done a hatchet job on him by now like Shawcross etc. He'd still be amazing of course but he'd be heavily targeted the way Hazard is at the moment. Hazard would rip it up in Spain.

You cannot seriously be comparing Hazard to Messi. Been on some heavy stuff last night??

Not in terms of quality, but what I'm saying is that Hazard would be even better in Spain IMO where he wouldn't be kicked off the park every week and doubled up on every time he gets the ball. And by reverse, I don't think Messi would be quite as effective and consistent over here, especially as he'd likely spend weeks of the season with ankle injuries!

I agree to a degree - it is a big test for a player when they move country, although a lot easier to slot into one of the best clubs in the league rather than move to a club that is struggling and rebuilding. You also have to consider the context of the move - Torres was quality at Atletico and then at Liverpool, so in theory world class, but then he goes to Chelsea and is ****. So a lot of it is about choosing the right club as well as the right league, and probably also not being injured when you make the move.

Tho' not sure how you can claim Suarez is the third best player in the world when he's not even the third best player at Barca. Messi, Neymar and Iniesta before you ask <ok>

Tbh that also shows how hard it is to define true world class players - do Messi, Neymar and Iniesta have to prove they are better than Suarez in the PL and Eredivisie before they can be properly world class?!

Don't really reckon Neymar's all that.

A large proportion of Barca fans say the same about Suarez.

Just goes to show the importance of context and the way the team is set up.

I think Neymar is brilliant and a rare talent, but of all the players mentioned, I think he'd struggle over here the most. Does a skinny technical Brazilian want to go to West Ham or QPR on a cold Wednesday night for a feisty local derby??

Looking back, I cannot see how the Rat can be viewed as nothing but world class. (a world class scumbag as a human being too!) At least whilst he was with the RS. Currently with Barca the jury is out. When he was with the RS, he singlehandedly took the club to a whisker of a title they had longed for more than 20 years. He improved the manager (!), and all the players around him. He made the team one to be feared and now without him they are crap. What else would you need to be world class?

Some promising youngsters coming through that United side. Rafael and Falcao looked a handful and that young 'keeper(Vardez, or something) looked like he has great potential too ;)

To be fair, we did have Khumalo captaining our youngsters and he's scored as many World Cup goals as Rooney!
