Gawd... first attempt. Tried to be unbiased comes out like this... Derby County 46 15 5 3 52 22 9 7 7 33 27 84 36 Watford 46 14 4 5 48 24 11 4 8 38 30 83 32 AFC Bournemouth 46 11 8 4 38 25 12 4 7 46 23 81 36 Middlesbrough 46 14 5 4 43 15 9 7 7 27 23 81 32 Norwich City 46 12 7 4 49 22 11 4 8 33 26 80 34 Brentford 46 14 4 5 43 23 10 4 9 28 32 80 16 Ipswich Town 46 15 5 3 40 17 7 8 8 30 33 79 20 Wolverhampton Wanderers 46 12 5 6 35 22 9 8 6 28 30 76 11 we miss the playoffs by a point and automatic promotion by .
Watford Middlesbrough Derby County AFC Bournemouth Norwich City Ipswich Town Brentford Nottingham Forest Wolverhampton Wanderers We edge Brentford on goal difference 76 points a piece. One interesting thing I have noticed, is Brighton's home run - Brighton and Hove Albion AFC Bournemouth Brighton and Hove Albion Norwich City Brighton and Hove Albion Watford Brighton and Hove Albion Wolverhampton Wanderers Very helpful. Us/ Derby / and Bournemouth all have Blackpool at home and without being rude that really should be 9 points. That fixture is massively helpful!!! Anyone can beat anyone, bring on the Boro. Don't know why but feeling confident.
I think the play off bar will end up being around 75 for 6th. Plenty points will be dropped from here on in.
Derby Middlesbrough Bournemouth Norwich Watford Ipswich Brentford Wolves I tried to be as balanced as possible, and I have both us and Brentford on 78 points, but we're six goals ahead on goal difference and claim the final play off spot. I've got Derby top, and while I think they're going to finish top of the table, I have them on a rather high 90 points, so I think I'm being a bit lazy and not really taking into account the unpredictability of this division. Be happy if the table turned out like this though, possibility of getting the Budgies in the Play Off final, what a game!
This is how mine turned out... Come on Hoppers sort your Loiife out Buh! I'm going into William Hills tomorrow with a Score on a Villa Vs Bradford Final..
One thing you csn be sure of Hoppers, we wont simply try to outscore everyone like Watford!! I had us in 7th on 75 pts!
I notice that everyone who predicted a full table had us on 80 points. I think that a haul of 15 points from our last ten games is probably underestimating us. We have averaged a shade above 1.8 points per game over the whole season including our slump spell so I think that 83 is likely. Our home games V derby and Boro are going to be huge.
I tried to be realistic and came out with a top 6 of: Norwich 90pts (GD 49) Derby 90pts (GD 47) Watford 89pts Bournemouth 87 Middlesborough 85 Ipswich 80 (Brentford and Wolves on 78/75) I think some teams (Norwich/Watford) are gathering momentum as others like us lose it slightly but I'm pretty confident that we'll get over the line into the playoffs. From there who knows. I do think Derby will stay in the top 2 though, because even though they've lost Bent and Martin they're clearly prepared to splash on loan signings. Steve Maclaren won't let the result at the weekend happen again! Watford will try and out score everyone. Bournemouth and Middlesborough have got enough in them to get the results. Brentford will panic and Wolves have left it too late.
It's an interesting exercise if you are into stats but our result against the Pie Eaters last week just shows how things can and do go awry. I don't know what the situation at Derby is with Martin and Brent but without those two they do seem have gone off the boil.
