I think going down might actually be a blessing in disguise. I always thought we should have strengthened in Jan. But we didn't and now we are seriously lacking in this league. I think rebuilding in the premier will be very expensive and it might not work. At the end of the season i would get rid of Rio Barton Niko SWP Sandro Adel, Sadly we will lose Austin and Fer. Hill i will offer a coaching role to. Starting from the back I would have Green in goal or the lad we got from reading who's name i can't remember We would have quite a solid back four of Furlong -----Caulker------ Ned ------Yun. We also have a number of players who can compete for their places like Robinson and Donaldson. Also keep Dunne to mentor them all. Build the middle around Ali and Henry.Phillips on the right. Start playing Holliet in the middle behind the strike force. Plus we can go out and find some good young attacking players maybe Morrison from West Ham. Easy if we don't go up straight away at least we will have a team to build around.
You saying you don't think he meant it when he said how proud he was to play for QPR? Yeah, he would probably be off. The point is though, if the club is serious about focussing on youth, there are enough youngsters with potential at the club to form the basis of a Championship squad and we might only need to make 3 or 4 signings rather than 8 or 9. Of course it would probably be a while before we could challenge for promotion, but it could be fun to see how they develop under Ramsey.
Go compare the other squads We have one good enough to stay up 17th was the target We are on target to get that So on here we wanted pulls sherwood clement and now a new set of players We suffered for years with a old blokes ego and have the fresh start we needed Now all is lost well our fan base seems to be And no one agrees we are sick We have everything to feel lucky about
If we slip then it's our job to still support something I found very hard under Harold It's not over and I am certain CR cares I hope he gets his chance to bring in his players but I believe he believes in what we have ... It's that belief that builds a team and it's getting there
come on - some balance needed here. zamora is perfectly fit for purpose and dunne was stand out before his injury. Redknapp wanted shot of taarabt and wright phillips. if he'd got rid of hill everyone would have gone mental. as for hoilett - there's a good player in there somewhere. he also bought Fer, Caulker and Phillips and brought in Isla and Vargas too. So... we are in the bottom 3 - thats exactly where we were expected to be and above the two teams who finished above us in the league last season and who we've been holding up as some paragon of perfection. Ferdinand didnt work out but was worth a punt at the time. We can blame redknapp for all our ills, and even for rising food prices if we like, but the reality is we blame him for everything because we don't really like him.
Sorry mate I can't have that. Practically everyone on here said in no uncertain terms at the time that he would be a terrible signing. So its not with hindsight that people are complaining about that one. It was so glaringly obvious it was excruciating. And going down the Harry route of saying we finished behind Burnley and Leicester last year is actually a reason to detract from him rather than use it as a yardstick to measure this season's progress. There's no way we should have finished so far behind a Burnley side cobbled together with no money compared to our setup. We even went and bought their best player off them at the time and finished miles behind them. Promotion was a good achievement but you can't use the fact that we couldn't finish above those two teams last year as something to be proud of when calculating this season's performance. The rest of your post is good
well there you are beat villa and we are back .. its when we are 7 points off that spot i would start to worry
That would be next week then DT. Sorry, love the optimism I agree CR is a refreshing change but he isn't going to keep us up in a month of sundays. TF has thrown in the towel for some strange reason. My guess would be his financial backers realise that while he is chairman we are going nowhere fast and are now no longer backing him financially if at all. There may be trouble ahead. I stated that I would back Ramsey and I do hope he starts the squad rebuild work that's needed, but throwing SWP on in injury time was so shockingly stupid that he isn't doing anyone any favours really so far. Why save 2 subs? 1 who give away a FK and another didn't touch the ball? Harry was bad but come on ! We are a basket case and you know it.
I'm fairly certain i read a fair few posts that were prepared to see what Ferdinand had to offer, if he was on a cheapish deal, before casting judgement. Yes, he's been poo but he potentially could have been a Dunne type. Worth a punt at the time IMO. As for Burnley they may have been cobbled together but so were we and you know it! Nobody on this board predicted us getting us promoted after the shambles of relegation. We were shocking so to say there's no way we should not have finished behind Burnley is cobblers - we did well getting in the top 6! And as for using the current table as a barometer of progress between us Leicester and Burnley, why can't i use it to calculate the seasons performance thus far? We were miles behind them and now we're not. We are exactly where we expected to be so saying the seasons been a total failure and blindly bashing Redknapp for everything doesn't make sense to me The rest of your post is decent too! (can't find emoticons)
Austin fer Isla Vargas will certainly be off (vargas Isla possible option to buy ) will be blocked if we went down and returned to clubs I can also see yun and caulker moving on also , worrying times if we go down , never been easy being an r but **** it its our team our club what will be will be Keep the faith still to play for
I respect your view but disagree with it for the following reasons: Zamora should have been let go. He has held the ball up well in a few games but in many has contributed nothing. He is also a striker which mean he should be scoring goals. How many has he scored? Dunne is to slow, he may have been outstanding is the last few games before injury, but how many times has he been responsible for goals over the season. I think your find there has been a few. Hill has looked lacking speed when he has played. There is no place for sentiment in the premiership. Taarabt was never liked by Harry and never going to be part of this season. Wright-Philips is a league 2 player or below and it is down to the stupid contract we gave him that he is still here. He should be left to rot until his contract expires. Hoilett was a good player at Blackburn but he has been awful in three years for us. If there is a good player still in there our coaching staff haven't been able to find it. Ferdinand was never worth a punt. So much for we won't buy oldies anymore and will invest in youngsters this time around, Probably the worst mistake of all. Harry never made us like him because he never ever made us feel he was part of QPR. Remember him clapping the Tottenham fans when we were 4-0 down? He got us out of the Championship just about with what should have been the best squad in that league, and he resigned when he believed he couldn't keep us up to try and keep what reputation he has left intact.
If we don't blame Redknapp who do you think is responsible? As for rising food prices, yeah throw that in too.......next you'll be suggesting that Redknapp can be credited for falling fuel prices too
I can't see why he can't say he is proud playing for QPR. I have jobs that i have really enjoyed and put 100% in all the time and left after a year. In Fer there is one person to blame and that is Tony. Tony has not gone out of his way to mess things up. But there has never really been a plan and he has gone from one idea to another with out thinking it through. Take Harry for instance he had his chance to sack him and then stuck with him but would not give him funds in jan. I think getting Les in is the best thing Tony has done. A person who knows the game and loves the club. He has taken all the thinking away from Tony and can build on the ideas the club want to put in place. Lets just hope the club is patent and give them time to work.
