I agree with the punching above our weight comment in the article, and the irony of the comments about 'Bruce Jr' proves this, good coaching and management from Bruce and his team means we can get the best out of players like Alex, Quinn, Rosy and others, Bruce should get as long as he wants
I go to every match home and away and Junior has never been close to motm - the only time he has any influence on the game is when Bruce takes him off
Alex has given 100% for us,in every game he's been asked to play. He's been a big part of a rock solid premier league defence. He puts in crunching, goal stopping tackles, game after game. He's fearless, and always puts his body the line And still there are clueless comments like this. Is this what you call getting behind your team ?
Should never rebel against your aristocratic background elle, it can come back to haunt you ! It did me to in 1 easy step..
Like any player on the park, Jr has good spells and bad spells. Most of the criticisism is purely because he's the manager's son.
exactly - if he wasn't the managers son, he wouldn't get picked - look at his cv loaned out constantly throughout his career, Wednesday, Oldham, Huddersfield Tranmere. Leicester - played for Brum, Ipswich and Leeds, all of whom loaned him out because he wasn't good enough in the lower leagues - then all of a sudden , his dad thinks he's good enough for the Prem - some of you need to wake up and smell the coffee - I agree he gives 100%, - so what, Aaron McLean gave 100% - many players do - it doesn't mean they deserve to play - if giving 100% was a reason to play he would still be playing for us
I do not doubt that he would not be here if it wasn't for his dad. That said he can produce the goods and he is no worse or better than McShane. He would not be my first name on the team sheet, but as a second level squad player he is ok. His past is nothing to do with what he does today. If I see his name in the starting eleven, I do not question why.
As for the nepotism thing, have you never considered that Steve Bruce might know more about his sons abilities than any other manager ?
When he left the pitch in the FA cup final the score was 2-0 to us, so how bad are our other defenders that conceded three goals to lose us the game in your opinion?
Bullshit - did you go - it was 2 1 - he gifted them their goal with a stupid foul on the edge of the area - anyone can quote stupid facts like that - how about Arsenal away this season - we were winning 2 1 till he came on - etc etc etc
You can't really expect the backup defenders to be as good as the regulars. Bruce is adequate for a club of City's standing.
If all our players were fit and firing on all cylinders Bruce wouldn't be in the starting 11. But when they aren't he's always there and ready to play to the best of his abilities and put in a good shift. People need to understand we have a squad, not just a team. He won't be paid as much as Davies, Daws etc and he won't expect to start every week and he's happy in the role he has. Every team needs players like Alex and i'm glad we've got him as cover when he's needed. I was skeptical when we signed him with him being Brucey's son and all, but he's done his talking on the pitch and shown why he deserves a squad number.
You really do post some bollocks. Try facing the ****ing pitch next time you go to a match and watching us instead Stevie G or whoever.
We've conceded 3 goals in our last 5 games. Alex Bruce isn't perfect, but he's honest, hard working, gives you everything and doesn't moan when left out. Give me that over someone like Davies who has constantly moaned about a new contract wile playing pants and generally sulking. Give
