    People get arrested all the time based on nothing more than accusations. All it takes is for there to be a suspicion of wrongdoing - which an accusation is - and the police then have to arrest somebody to investigate it further. That is the problem with his arrest being publicised. People assume there must be a strong reason for him to be arrested and then even if he is found not-guilty then people will say there is no smoke without fire.

    Agreed, when I worked for them between October 2012 and October 2013, I was working for the Central Archiving File and without going into detail plenty of people get arrested without ever going to court, though usually for minor offences. I alos know that the CPS will decide on whether it goes to court or not and even then they can get it wrong.
