Gabriel has a little hamstring injury and he will be out for two to three weeks. He has a scan today. That means he’s not available for the weekend and certainly not for West Ham United or Monaco, but after that he should be available again. on team news... We will of course lose Gabriel in the squad and Nacho Monreal might come back. He will have a test today. Everybody else should be available - the same squad that played against Queens Park Rangers. on having most players fit... We have a lot of competition going on in the team, especially up front - we have plenty of offensive potential. It makes every decision more difficult. on Szczesny… He has a test today. If he gets through that test, he will play on Monday night. Starting XI + Bench: please log in to view this image
Could switch Cazorla for Oxo. Just think Ramsey will provide more energy in midfield but don't want to bench Santi.
Last 6 Meetings: Arsenal 1-2 Manchester United Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United Manchester United 1-0 Arsenal Arsenal 1-1 Manchester United Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal Arsenal 1-2 Manchester United 7th time lucky hopefully !!!!!!!
Honestly at least 3 of thos ocassions should have been wins for us. The 1-2 earlier this season was DDG heroics, poor finishing and suicidal defending. The 0-0 we could have won and the 1-1 we should have if not for Sagna's stupid PK. We beat City in Manchester earlier we can do it to their noisy neighbors here. We broke the "big team away win" duck, let's break the United duck then hopefully break the Mourinho duck at the Emirates later on.
Keep Santi central. He has been phenomenal there this season. Put Ozil on the wing where he drifts inside anyways.
That could work. Santi CAM with Ozil drifting in. We did that once, I think vs. Villa, to great effect
Not sure, OXO or Ozil, OXO so we can go with most of the same line up vs City, and OXO will bring more pace on the wings should we want hit on the break, and also brings more defensive stability than an Ozil....But Ozil has been quite good lately, and maybe this can be his chance to shine on the big stage.
Not if he is played out of position. At a ground where traditionally you struggle mentally, is a player who can struggle under pressure ideal?
I said it on another thread, but I just think Ozil needs to speed his game up a little. All the skill, tenacity and vision is there but he's still playing at the same pace as La Liga and needs to up it to premier league speed. If he can do this then I think we'll all see the Ozil that everybody expected.
What strategy will be deployed? High pressure or "city/Spurs" strategy of sitting deep and country attack?
Not confident at all. We are way too timid as a side. There needs to a be nastiness which has been lacking in recent years in order to get anything out of OT.
We've rolled over for a **** Utd team in last couple of seasons and it's about time we put that right. If we win tomorrow at OT then it will be a huge monkey off of our backs and could give us a big push for the run in.
A couple of interesting stats about Giroud I've just read in some of the BBC articles leading up to this game. 1) Giroud has a better goal ratio than Costa this season... 2) Giroud has 7 goals and 4 assists in 11 FA Cup games for us... What a record...
If there was ever atime to go to OT and give that lot a drubbing, it's now Gunners. Crabby McHoofball has been luckily scraping results with Offside Dodgy peno and Own goal. So if none of those 3 are playing for United tonight you should win this one. It's about time you lot turned up at OT without that inferiority complex
